The Medicament Remedy

Chapter 12

After finding out the truth with my brother, I felt like a heavy weight has finally lift from my system. It has been a month, but things are still a bit awkward but we are trying to work things out.

We exchanged our numbers and sometimes he's asking me how's my day or if I need anything. I have been vocal that I'm not yet comfortable with him so he's also not bombing me with affection even though at times I feel like he still have a lot to ask. He's just inhibiting it so I won't be overwhelmed, but still at some point there is still progress.

Aside from kuya, there is also something foreign in me. I have always been comfortable and used with Maru's presence, but after how he compliment me that night, I feel like odd and uncomfortable around him.

Every time I see or hear him I just recall every words he said to me, and for that reason, I feel uncomfortable, no wonder I sometimes avoid him because I'm not used with this emotion.

I know what I'm starting to feel, but I'm trying my best to avoid it and focus on my goal. I can't be a slave of what I feel. He's a friend and that's how it should only be.

I'm zooning out at my transes when someone put a drink in front of me. I startled and looked who put it there.

"Double choco chip frappe, for madam baby," Maru said and sat next to me.

"What's this for?" I asked. avoiding his gaze by looking the reviewers.

"Wala lang, treat ko kasi last day na ng render ko mamaya," Sabi niya. 

"Grabe iba talaga pag big time na," Cassiel said while sipping on her drink.

"Sabi ng may jowang limpak-limpak pera. Pasabi kay Claude kung 'di niya na alam saan gagastusin pera niya, bukas palad namin para tumanggap," Sagot ni Lilo na siyang nasundan ng tawanan.

"Nauna ka na naman umalis kanina, 'di ka man lang nag-almusal," Bulong ni Maru.

"I already had my breakfast," I answered.

"Ay grabe 'di nagyaya, gawain ba yan ng mabuting housemate?" Pang-aasar niya.

"You're annoying," I blurted but he just laugh. He was about to say something when someone called him

"Maru!" Jade, one of our block mate called. Maru then looked at her and so she walked near Maru.

"Here, thank you for letting me borrow this," She said and hand a hardbound to Maru, if I'm not mistaken its the transes that we are sharing within the group. Particularly the one that he made.

"Walang anuman, maliit na bagay," Sagot niya at kinuha na ang hardbound kay Jade, their hands touch and for some reason I saw how Jade avoid his gaze and smile shyly.

"When are you available, so that I could at least treat you as thank—"
