Jana lifted her heavy dress as she climbed over the scattered log, her dress getting caught in the twigs that stuck out of the branch. She tore the heavy dress from the wayward log, pieces of the the shredded material remaining caught.

Hefting her dress higher up in her arms, she continued trudging through the forest, her wild golden curls tumbling out of her bun and tangling down her back and across her forehead. Pushing them from her face she continued her struggle through the muddy woods.

Her feet stumbling as she tripped over a hidden rock. Grumbling under her breath she kept on trailing through the mud until she reached her destination.

When she reached the large oak tree that stood on an incline on top of a hill she began her long climb to the top of the tree. Her long dress getting caught in her feet as she continued climbing.

Today had been another failure. Neema and Khan had gotten her all dressed up in this fancy get up only to be bitterly disappointed. Again.

Maybe she was not meant to have a mate, maybe she was one of those humans who were meant to be married. At the age of 15 she did not see why she should have to care, both of her sisters didn't start having children until they were in their twenties.

A sharp shout of her name had her growling as she made the climb back down the tree in the direction of the compound.

"I never catch a break" she groaned as she ran down the hill. Neema would have a heart attack when she saw her.

The crunching of the twigs beneath her feet and the squelching of the mud accompanied her musings.

So caught up in her one sided discussion with herself she couldn't feel the eyes that watched her every move.
