Sunshine

I wake on a beach with sand so light it feels like I'm walking on a cloud. I don't know how I ended up here. I've done nothing to deserve this.

The sharp, cold rips in the tide feel so glorious when it flows onto my feet.

I take a step

The sea sings a sweet melody that's so inviting

I take a step

The sun is so white and bright, but I cannot look away

I take a step

I take a breath and look at the world around me. I feel the bliss of life everyone's always talking about. I wish I had gotten the chance to endure this heavenly feeling earlier.

I see a dolphin dancing in the distance

I take a step

The luscious smell of the sea is divine

I take a step

My mind is so empty yet so full

I take a step

A voice calls for me across the sea. It wants me to keep walking and go towards the light. I don't know who allowed me to get this far. I don't belong here.

"Stop with all those doubts, my child. You are home now. There's no need for them here," the voice chants.

I try to speak, but no words can leave the tip of my tongue

A hand reaches for mine. "Come now, don't be afraid, for I will guide you along the sea into eternity," the voice exclaims.

I take a step

Those might think the light might not be as simple to get to. Sometimes, you must cross a large swamp before reaching the beautiful beach that is happiness.
