Darkness Rising: Part 1

It was a quiet day in Jasper, Nevada as Sapphire was walking along the sidewalk and was heading towards the grocery store to buy some groceries for dinner. She was quietly humming along until her eyes landed across a local burger joint called "K.O Burger" and this caught her attention as she stares at the building. Sapphire thought for a moment before shrugging her shoulders and said to herself "I guess burgers will be fine for tonight" and heads towards the burger joint. She goes inside and sees a 16 year old teenager as he has black hair, blue eyes and is wearing jeans and long sleeves. Sapphire stands quietly as she waits while he was helping a customer from the drive-thru.

"Welcome to K.O drive in, where every patty is a knockout. May I take your order?" the boy asked through the microphone. "Uh, two super combos, extra fries" the customer says and from what Sapphire can tell that the customer is a young man. "Okay, dos numero two's. Anything else?" the boy asked as he was preparing the order and then the young man mockingly says "Yeah, some advice. How do I get an awesome job like yours?" and then laughter was heard through the microphone, causing the boy to look irritated while Sapphire frowned at this and then the boy says while placing down two bags by the window "So thats two, 'we're not as funny as we think we are' combos, with a side of 'bite me'" and this made Sapphire smirk when she heard the young man laughed again before realizing what the boy said and asked/demanded "What'd you say?!" and the boy simply replied back "$5.59 SIR... At the window".

The boy turns away for a second before laughter was heard again as the driver grabs the bags and immediately takes off without paying and this makes Sapphire frown even more as she clenched her fist while the boy exclaimed "HEY! I- I have to pay for that" and then deciding to do something, Sapphire cleared her throat and this made the boy turn around to see a silver-haired young woman, who about two years old than him was standing by the counter. "Oh! I'm sorry ma'am. I didn't see you there" the boy apologized and Sapphire gave a small, soft smile and said "It's no problem. I saw what just happened and I thought maybe I'll pay for it" and the boy immediately declined as he said "Oh no, no! You don't have to ma'am, I can pay for it" and Sapphire shakes her head and replies back "It's alright. I insist" and at first, the boy hesitated before sighing and then asked "Um, may I take your order, ma'am?" and Sapphire chuckled before saying "Can I get the number 6, please?" and the boy nods as he prepares the oder for Sapphire and says "That's three burgers with the sides of fries. That'll be $9.56, please" and Sapphire opens her wallet and pulls out $20 and hands it to the surprised boy.

"Both for my meal and the customer. Also keep the change" Sapphire simply said and the boy really hesitated before taking the $20 bill from her and then he says "Thank you. Um, I'm Jack Darby by the way" and Sapphire gave a small nod with another small smile and says "I'm Sapphire Rhys. Hope to see you again Jack. Keep up the good work" and then she leaves, leaving the boy known as Jack as he was still stunned by Sapphire's generosity.

Timeskip

Sapphire was walking through an alleyway as she was texting her sister on her phone to let her know that she ordered themselves some takeout.

Sapphire

Hey Thalia, I ordered us some takeout for dinner.

Thalia

Okay, I'll let Athena know. But we'll be home soon since we're racing with our friend.

Sapphire

Alright. Just be careful.

Sapphire puts her phone away as she was still walking before turning the corner until suddenly something or rather someone ran into her from behind, causing her and the person to fall down. "Ow!!" Sapphire groaned as she rubbed her head and was about to scold the person until she said in confusion "Jack?!" and it revealed to be Jack as he looked like he was in a panic. "Jack what's-!" Sapphire starts to say and then without warning, Jack quickly grabs her hand and starts running as he says "Run!" and pulls Sapphire along. Suddenly a black and purple sports car appears and starts chasing after them and then Jack shouts to the car "I don't even know her!" and Sapphire, who was running as well looks at Jack confused as she thought to herself 'Who's her? Why is that car chasing us?! And... Why does that color scheme on that car look oddly...familiar?' and then all the sudden Sapphire sees a blue motorcycle jumped on the sports car and landed beside the two as it says "Hop on!" and both Jack and Sapphire quickly jumped on and the motorcycle drove off.
