Later that evening, after the Avengers meeting had concluded and everyone had dispersed to their respective quarters, Y/N found herself alone in her room, grappling with the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her. She paced back and forth, replaying the events of the evening in her mind.

A soft knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. Y/N hesitated before crossing the room to open it, finding Peter standing on the other side, looking visibly nervous.

"Hey," Peter began, his voice wavering slightly. "Can we talk?"

Y/N's heart skipped a beat as she invited him in, her mind racing with anticipation. Peter took a seat on her bed, fidgeting with his fingers as he struggled to find the right words.

"I, uh, I wanted to apologize," he started, his gaze fixed on the floor. "For earlier, I mean. I didn't mean to... well, you know... You weren't supposed to find out like that, that I'm... you know, Spider-Man." He stuttered

Y/N couldn't help but smile at Peter's awkwardness, her nerves beginning to dissipate. "It's okay, Peter. Really. I understand"
Y/N knew that if she didn't already know he was Spider-Man, her reaction would be way different, but with all things going on, she didn't want to act further on it.

Peter looked up, relief washing over his features. "Thanks. I just... I wasn't sure how you'd react, you know, with everything going on."

Y/N studied Peter's earnest expression, feeling a surge of warmth wash over her. Despite the chaos of their secret lives, there was a sense of comfort in knowing that they shared this bond, even if Peter wasn't aware of her true identity.

"It's okay, Peter," Y/N reassured him, her voice soft. "I'm actually glad you told me. It explains a lot, like why you're always disappearing at odd hours."

Peter chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, sorry about that. It's not easy balancing everything."

Y/N nodded in understanding, knowing all too well the challenges of maintaining a double life. "Trust me, I get it. Being Tony Stark's 'intern' has its own set of complications."

Peter's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, you're Tony Stark's intern? I didn't know Mr Stark had an intern..."

"Uh, yeah. Like I said, recent arrangement. Did you not at all listen to the whole conversation?"

"No, I was lost in y- in thought." He interrupted himself, and his face turned red. A pause, and then he spoke again. "That's... really cool, actually. I had no idea."

Y/N smiled, relieved that her cover story seemed to be holding up. "Yeah, it has its perks."

Silence settled between them, punctuated only by the faint hum of the city outside. Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for Peter's presence, for his unwavering friendship in the midst of secrets and uncertainty.

As the night stretched on, Y/N found solace in the company of her best friend, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them side by side. And as she drifted off to sleep, a sense of peace washed over her, knowing that in Peter Parker, she had found a kindred spirit—a partner in secrecy, and a friend for life.

Please lmk if you guys want them to just be friends, for Peter to like Y/N or for them to be shipped by the rest of the Avengers?
Or perhaps a previous villain is turning to join them at the tower...? (💚🌳)
