Hours passed, and the sun began to rise, casting its golden light across the room. Sharky stirred, rolling over to check his phone. He glanced down at the sleeping form of Kenny, still curled up against him. A smile crept across his face as he remembered their conversation from the night before. He wondered if Kenny would remember any of it.

Carefully, he slipped off the sofa, making sure not to wake him. He padded over to the window, drawing back the curtains to let the sunlight stream in.

Kenny stirred, slowly opening his eyes. Blinking several times, trying to adjust to the bright light. Sharky smiled down at him, feeling a rush of affection wash over him.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," he said softly, reaching down to run a hand over Kenny's face. "How are you feeling?"

Kenny squinted up at him, his eyes still a little unfocused. "Ugh, my hand hurts," he moaned, rubbing at his splint.

"Well, it's time for more meds. Sorry, won't be as good as last night's lot." Sharky let out a laugh, retrieving some water and pills.

Kenny looked around, a little disoriented. "Oh yeah, that's right... last night..." His voice trailed off as he remembered their conversation. "Sharky, I was so out of it... I hope I didn't say anything stupid..."

Sharky laughed softly, shaking his head. "You said some pretty nice things, actually." He grinned down at Kenny, trying to lighten the mood. "Don't worry about it. We'll just forget this whole thing ever happened, okay?"

Kenny took the pills, and when he had woken up properly, he jumped up from the sofa. He pulled Sharky up into a standing position. "Go. Get. Dressed." He said, placing kisses on the other's mouth between each word. "We now have plans."

Sharky grinned, wrapping his arms around Kenny's waist. "Oh, do we now?" he teased, nibbling at Kenny's ear. "And what might these plans entail?"

Kenny pushed him away playfully. "Get dressed, Sharky. We're going on an adventure." He winked.

They both went upstairs to get washed and dressed before returning downstairs. As they were walking down, Sharky couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling up inside of him. "So, where exactly are we going on this adventure of ours?" he asked eagerly.

Kenny grinned mischievously, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "Well, I thought we'd start with breakfast," he replied, leading Sharky over to the door. He opened the door and stepped outside, waiting for Sharky to follow.

The air was crisp and cool, with a gentle breeze rustling the leaves on the trees. The sun was shining brightly in the sky, casting long shadows across the street. As they walked down the sidewalk, Kenny kept a firm grip on Sharky's hand, his steps springy and light.

Their day went smoothly; they went to a cafe for breakfast, then took the bus to town as Kenny couldn't drive with his injury and he didn't want Sharky to drive. They went to a few shops, then had lunch at a nice restaurant.

They now found themselves walking along the river. It dawned on Kenny that he didn't know what he was doing. He felt nervous and slightly awkward, and his palms were sweating.

Sharky glanced over at him, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, reaching out to touch Kenny's arm. "You're looking a little pale."

Kenny forced a smile, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves. "I'm fine," he said, clearing his throat. "Just enjoying the view, you know?" He gestured vaguely at the river, trying to focus on something besides the butterflies in his stomach.

"Mhm, great view." Sharky murmured, staring at Kenny's fascinated face.

They walked along the river for a little while, the silence between them not uncomfortable but full of anticipation. Sharky couldn't help feeling a bit nervous, but he was also incredibly happy. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt this way about someone. He glanced over at Kenny, taking in his features, the way the sunlight played with his eyes, and the way his lips moved as he spoke. He wanted nothing more than to lean in and kiss him, to feel those lips against his own.

They stopped at a small bench overlooking the water, and Sharky sat down, patting the spot next to him.

Kenny hesitated for a moment, then slowly sat down beside Sharky, their shoulders brushing together. He looked into Sharky's eyes and said, "I wanted to thank you... for everything. For being there, for helping me." His voice trailed off, and Sharky felt the urge to reach out and touch him.

Sharky smiled warmly, his thumb rubbing softly across the back of Kenny's hand. "Don't mention it," he said sincerely. "I'm just glad I could be there for you when you needed someone." He paused, searching for the right words.

The air around them seemed to hum with an almost tangible energy, and Sharky couldn't help but feel that this was a moment they'd both been waiting for.

He looked into Kenny's eyes, seeing a mix of nervousness and excitement that mirrored his own feelings, and his heart skipped a beat. Kenny took a deep breath before speaking.

"So, Sharky, I was wondering..." He trailed off, hesitating for a moment. Sharky could feel the anticipation growing between them, his heart racing in his chest. He leaned in slightly, his eyes never leaving Kenny's face.

"Yes?" he prompted, his voice barely more than a whisper.

Kenny swallowed hard, mustering up the courage to say what was on his mind. "Well, I was wondering if... if you might want to, maybe, be my boyfriend?" he blurted out, his face flushing with embarrassment. "Like, officially."

Sharky felt a rush of happiness wash over him as he listened to Kenny's words. He couldn't help but smile brightly, his heart racing.

"Or if I've read it all wrong, then just forget it, and I'm sorry." Kenny rushed in to say.

Sharky chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No, you read it right. I'd like that." He reached out, cupping Kenny's face in his hands, his thumbs tracing gentle circles on his cheeks. "I'd like to be your boyfriend, officially."

Their lips met in a tender kiss, their hearts racing as they gave themselves over to the moment. Sharky slid his arms around Kenny, pulling him close, feeling the other man's warmth and strength against him. Kenny's hand was tangled in Sharky's hair. It was only a brief kiss, as they were aware anyone could walk past at any moment and recognise them.

When they pulled apart, Sharky smiled down at Kenny, his eyes twinkling with happiness. "I've never been happier about being asked out," he whispered, leaning in to press a chaste kiss against Kenny's temple.

They sat there for a moment, simply enjoying each other's company, the weight of their newfound connection making everything around them seem lighter and brighter. The air was filled with the sounds of birds singing and the gentle lap of the river.

"I love you." Kenny whispered, his heart racing as the words escaped his lips. Sharky smiled at him, his own heart swelling with love and happiness.

"I love you too." Sharky replied, his voice soft and sincere. He stood up, offering a hand to Kenny. They took an Uber back to the house, understanding their impatience to share intimate moments freely.
