Sultan Ahmed refused to believe Hande after his new haseki-consorts Esma and Fatma tricked him to think that Hande was conspiring against him and was truly interested in someone else. They produced enough false evidence to do so. Ahmed no longer loved Hande, and there was nothing she could do about it.
