Essentially, Fatma tricked Ahmed and got Hande exiled, took over the role of harem manager, got increased pay, and the Valide Sultan rooms. This occurred for several months until the events now. - Dilara [narrator]

"Emine, I have nowhere to run!" Fatma sobbed as her maids barricaded the doors of the room she was hiding in. In vanity, she kept all her jewels, and this weighed her and the remaining loyal servants down. She was now a criminal, to be immediately turned over to Hande when found.
The doors suddenly were pushed open as Fatma screamed. Her kids were hidden in the closet, but they covered their ears upon hearing the Ahhhhh EEeeeeeeeeee!!!! sound Fatma made. Suddenly, something unexpected happened, to Fatma's luck.
Safiye Sultan was waiting at the door.

"Büyük Valide? Why are you here? Did Hande send you?" Fatma began backing up. Safiye Sultan breathed in.
"Fatma, we came here because we sensed an opportunity. We always take our chances when available." Safiye exhaled. "Now I have two choices. The first, I can immediately turn you over to Hande, your children executed, and you humiliated."
Fatma tensed up upon hearing this ominous predicament.
"Or... We can team up and dethrone Hande, and I will rule as temporary regent and live in Topkapi." Now Fatma didn't want Safiye to have so much power over her, but the offer appealed to her. Little did she now that Safiye was simply taking advantage over her situation, and would drop her when necessary.
