<3 Tanjiro POV <3

Did he just say what I think he did? I smiled widely, "Of course! I'd love that Mui!," Before I could comprehend it, my body moved on its own and I hugged his tiny figure smiling.

I could feel his smile against my shoulder as his head was leaning on it. He hesitantly hugged back. 

We stayed like that for a while before being interrupted by a knock at his door, "Hm? Let me get it!" I said turning to Mui, "But it's my apart-"

"And I'm your boyfriend now!" I chuckled and walked to the front door looking through the peephole...

I had to stop myself from gasping when I saw Kanao, Brian, and his buddies.

"Who is it?" Muichiro called from the other room.

"Uhm... No one! Must've been a prank or something," I lied as I pretended to be fine as I walked back to the living room.

I sat next to Muichiro who avoided eye contact, "What's up?" I asked slightly confused.

"That's the first lie since we started dating and it hasn't been a minute," He said stubbornly looking away. Damn... I guess I'm not the best at lying. I sighed.

"Im sorry... I just- It's for your protection I swear. I just have to take care of it and then everything will be fine and normal," I promised.

"Why won't you tell me what it is? I feel like if it includes watching over me 24/7 I should know!" Muichiro said getting frustrated.

I looked away ashamed, "I want to tell you-"

"Then tell me," He said now in a calm tone making me look at him.

"I can't..."

"Why...?" He asked removing his hand from my face.

I sighed and was about to speak when suddenly my phone rang. I answered it when it said Mom was calling. Muichiro slumped onto the couch upset.

"Hey Mom," I said looking at Muichiro who was still pissed.

"Tanjiro, can you head home? I need you to babysit the little ones, your dad is at work, your sister is out with her friends, and I need to go grocery shopping," She explained.

"Okay... sure," The call ended. "So uhm... Mom needs me home... I'll talk to you later okay?" When he realized I needed to leave he suddenly switched completely. "Wait... don't leave... d-did I do something..? Im sorry don't go..." He said holding my arm.

His 360 made my face warm, "I-I wish I could stay, but I need to babysit. I'll call later, okay?"

He nodded seemingly regretting having nearly snapped by the look on his face. "Just... be quick okay?"

"I will," I got up and turned to leave, as I was walking out the living room I heard him mumble something but wasn't sure what it was. I shrugged it off mentally and left. As I was walking out of the elevator once it had reached ground floor I noticed a ghetto looking truck. I noticed Brian in the driver seat and Kanao in the passenger, they looked slightly shocked to see me leaving. Kanao just seemed jealous and more pissed though.

I sighed peacefully as I remembered I locked the door on the way out. Muichiro should be safe in his apartment. Right...?

I got in my car and drove home, listening to music on the radio, my mind going crazy.
