So, hear me out: what if the reason that humans built the bunkers in the first place was because of what happened back on earth?
Think about it: in episode 6, Tessa states that "The humans here saw what was happening back home," implying that they also knew that disassembly drones were killing humans, literally effortlessly.
So, as a response to that, they made the bunkers on the planet to try and ride out a potential genocide by drones. We've already seen how effective it is at keeping out murder drones, so they were obviously made with that intent.
