You wanted to work at the SCP agency because when you were younger, you met a SCP. This was before you were blind, of course. The SCP you met was tall and black. His face was scary to everyone else. But to you, he looked normal. He had white eyes that looked like lights and his smile was definitely NOT something someone would ever fall for. His teeth were bloodstained and looked like they he had just eaten a small animal. You thought that because in his teeth were stringy red things and you knew it wasn't string cheese.

When you first worked at the SCP agency you were to work with SCP-053, SCP-079, and SCP-662. SCP-053 seemed to like you. Even though you couldn't see her, you could tell that she was an adorable little girl by her voice and the things she would say or randomly get excited about. Sometimes you would braid her hair and play with her. When you were with her for more than twenty minutes, everyone was astonished with how you never turned hostile towards her. And to be honest, you never knew either.

SCP-662 and you became best friends due to you not being able to see well and him helping you out most of the time if you almost ran into a chair or tripped and fell. He was always there to pick you up or make sure you were ok. And unlike most people, you never purposely rang his bell or asked him to take care of you or fetch you something. When you rang his bell it was by accident because your main job was to polish the bell every day, which you thought was excessive.

Old Al wasn't exactly the most friendliest SCP you've dealt with but he was definitely intrigued by you and vise versa. He would ask how you became blind or why you wanted to work there or if there was any way to breach the security. The last question always made you laugh because you never thought it would be possible, but you were wrong.

Years later you were taking a break and decided to listen to the testing with SCP-173. "Attention all class D personnel, please enter the containment chamber." One guard said over a microphone and you could hear a couple of the scientist snicker.

"How many are in there?" You ask hiding the anger in your voice.

"Three. Two of them we got two days ago and the last one is D-9341." A male's voice replied and you nodded your head. "Do you need any help with what's happening?" You heard him ask and you nod your head. "They just walked into the chamber."

"Please approach SCP-173 for testing." You heard the guard say.

"Something's not right," You hear a scientist whisper. "The doors aren't closing all the way."

"Um, there seems to be a problem with the door control system. The doors aren't responding to any of our attempts to close it. So, please maintain eye contact with SCP-173 while-" Then his voice stops and people start screaming. You could tell exactly what happened when you heard guns firing and the alarms started to sound. SCP-173 had become loose.

You could hear someone say something about a lockdown but you weren't quite sure with all the screaming that was going on. You knew you had to get out of there right now. You got up and started walking the way you got in. Maybe if I get SCP-662, Mr. Deeds could help me out. So that's where you were headed.

When you got to the bell you rang it. "Oh, miss (l/n), how may I be of assistance to you?" He asked politely like the old, British gentleman that he was.

"All hell has broken loose. SCP-173 broke free from his cell and everyone is dying. I need your help to get me over to SCP-087-B." You reply.

"I will gladly show you to SCP-087-B."

"Thank you, Mr. Deeds, and I will keep your bell just in case."

"Thank you, Miss (l/n)." And with that, you two tried to find the not so familiar stairs. When he helped you to the SCP-087, you dismissed him. You had to go in alone. Your dad restricted you from this area and now no one was alive to shun you from this place.

You walked down each and every step until you felt a wall in front of you. There were two ways you could take: left or right. You decided that right would be most likely be best. You had to make more left or right decisions three more times, but there were more steps. How many steps are there? You thought to yourself.

You could hear breathing in this staircase and you walked towards it, until you felt skin in front of you. It wasn't human that was for sure, so you guessed it was SCP-087-1. Another SCP that you guessed would be harmless to you. "Excuse me," You whispered and it moved out of your way. "Thank you." Even though you looked normal on the outside, you were so happy on the inside. OMG I just made it past him and I survived. Well, this SCP does need you to be looking at it when it kills you. I'm actually proud to be blind now. Being blind saved my life! Who would have ever thought about that?

After what seemed like forever, there weren't any more stairs. You inwardly cheered until you heard, "Don't look at me." Then you immediately felt scared. The voice was deep and very raspy as if it was made from a video game. You kept walking towards it because you knew on the other side that there was an elevator to get out.

"Don't look at me." It said over and over again. Those words sounded familiar to you. Then you remembered. This was the same SCP you met when you were younger.

(Let's pretend you're 23 here when ⬆️ takes place. So we'll go back 10 years)

You walked down the steps of an empty hotel because your parents told you that there was a surprise at the bottom and you couldn't wait to see it. When you walked over to the abandoned hotel your parents sped away and you never saw them again. You waited for three days, but they never came back. How could someone leave their 13 year old child behind? You thought and that's when you decided to go down those stairs and find out what the prize was. It would be yours and not theirs.

You looked at an old piece of paper by the door to the stairs that said that there were 20 flights of stairs and you were on the top. This hotel was an underground hotel.

After all those steps you started panting until you heard a man's voice ask, "Who's there?"

"I'm (y/n). I'm sorry if I startled you. My parents left me to find a treasure that seems to be at the bottom of the steps." You reply softly and take another step.

"Don't come anywhere near me." The man's voice commanded but you didn't obey. You took one more step making it to the very bottom of the steps and there was a black figure looking at the wall. This is the treasure? Sure didn't look like a treasure. "Don't look at me." He said sadly.

"Why not?" You asked.

"You'll run away. They all do." You look down at your hands.

"My parents left me behind. I know how it feels and I promise I won't leave you behind if I look at you." With those words he turned around and you gasped but didn't run.

He was shaped like a human except for his face. His smile was huge and his teeth were red and had little stringy things in them as if he has taken a bite out of an animal. His eyes were like flashlights. They were white but shone with intensity. You immediately looked away when your eyes started to hurt.

"I told you not to look at me." He said. His voice barely audible. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine. I'll be fine." You said and smiled at him with your eyes closed.

"You're the first person that's never run away from me." You heard him chuckle.

"I made a promise now I have a promise I want you to keep."

"Whatever it is, I will keep it." He replied confidently.

"Promise we'll always stick together, no matter what happens."

"I promise to never leave you."
