It's been one year since you two have escaped. The media had clear coverage of everything that happened in the containment. The reason why the place failed because a computer was able to let one SCP out by making a door stay open instead of closed. That certain SCP was to be watched at all time or else it would snap your neck. Luckily it was shipped off to the bottom the ocean in a steel box with three waterproof cameras so anyone around the world could see it. It didn't make sense, but it worked.
On a lighter note, there were safe houses for SCPs now but you couldn't trust them. Like all good stories, they miss a crucial part of real life and that was some of the 'safe houses' were like zoos where you could pay to see the different freaks in their natural habitat. You couldn't be in one of those houses. So you asked SCP-662 to help you find something small, specifically, an apartment with two rooms and one bathroom and this was the place you settled on. The other two didn't argue since they had no idea what to do for shelter. The owner of the complex was nice too. You had given her cash every time the rent was due but she would split it in half and give the rest to you.
"Disgusting..." SCP-682 breaks you out of your thoughts. You look back at the tv and realize why he was upset. You had it turned to the news. He hated the news, specifically politics.
"Sorry, let me put on- Oh! The Notebook is on. You like that movie, don't you?" No response. "I thought so." You play the movie when 049 walks in.
"I am surprised no one has screamed at my appearance today. It would appear as though I look normal." He looked around the apartment slowly as if he was searching for something.
"I doubt that." You sigh.
"Pardon? Have you said something?" His low voice gave you goosebumps.
"I believe Ms. (l/n) said that she doubted that you look normal." 662 answered while sipping some tea and enjoying the daily paper as always.
"Would Ms. (l/n) like to accompany me on a walk? I would be delighted to have shown her wrong." Thankfully over the year, 049 had expanded his vocabulary. Don't ask what his job was though, or else he would go back to the same old boring lines that he used to say. He slowly looked back towards you and you smiled sheepishly at him.
"I guess I can." You get up and grab a coat before waiting by the door for him to open it for you. "What a gentleman," You joke and walk out with him beside you. In truth, he wouldn't be able to go outside without an escort because he would have been deemed as an unsafe SCP. This means he could harm others without someone watching over him at all times. This is why he worked at a morgue. Can't harm dead people.
"I would like to take you somewhere. Don't worry, it's not far." He inclined his face towards you then began to walk in front of you. As expected, everyone did a double take when looking at him but no one said a word since it was clear that you were his escort.
"So, where are we going?"
"It is a surprise." He mumbled and you two kept walking onwards.
(Time Skip)
"You brought me to-"
"I understand that members of a family are in pain when they are at funerals. I cannot comfort you though." He walked you down the aisle to a freshly soiled area with a gravestone. 622 was holding a book in his hands and mumbling something about "everyone being gathered here today" while 682 munches on the dead grass beside him. You look closely at the tombstone and see:
(S/N) (L/N)
A Beloved Sister and Friend.
"You made a funeral service for my sister?" You question as you gently twirl the petals of the white flowers on your sister's tombstone.
"We made this for you, but we did not know her birthday or the day we got out." He stands next to you with his hands held behind his back. You peer up at his mask to see him staring at your hands. "I did not know her, but I know how much she meant to you and someday, I hope to mean just as much as she did to you."
"We're already like family, a real family." You look at 662 and smile at him. "Something I thought I could never have." Your eyes wander away from the other SCPs and back to 049. He doesn't look back at you, but at your hands instead.
"I do not believe you understand what 049 is trying to say, (y/n)." 662 whispers to you. "He is implying something more than family." Your gaze shot back to the old butler.
"What do you mean?"
"It appears as though I have overstepped my boundaries." He closes his book and nods at 682. "We should leave these two alone." Apparently, 682 agreed because they both turned away at the same time and walked away without another word.
"I do not like it when he butts into my affairs." He clears his throat. "I want to apologize, (y/n)." You look back at the masked man. "I thought your sister had the disease and I wanted to cure her. My cure was not what you wanted for her and now she is here." He looks at the tombstone.
"It wasn't your fault. I'm sure those scientists made you believe you had the cure to whatever disease everyone had."
"You did not have the disease, so I find no reason to cure you." You notice him look at your hands again. "When we first met, do you remember what I first said to you?" You pause for a moment.
"I think you said something about me being... exquisite? Right?"
"I said 'Greetings'. I see you still flatter yourself with my compliment."
"I thought you were stating a fact?" You cock an eyebrow at him.
"I was then, but now..." His gaze meets yours. "I want to protect you like every bird wishes to do although I am not part bird."
"Are you flirting with me?" You ask slightly nervous as to how he might answer.
"I am." HIs low voice replies and you smile at him.
"I don't know how to react in this kind of situation." Let's face it, flirting was never a strong point of yours.
"I fear my mask would get in the way of some human interactions." He holds out a gloved hand to you. "I promise not to turn you into a zombie."
"Wait, are you implying what I think you're implying?"
"He wants you to be more than friends, (y/n). Possibly like a family or to create one with you." 662 says from behind startling you. "I believe we had given you a sufficient amount of time to approve feelings of one another." Well, that was an interesting sentence to hear.
"Well, then, why not?" You place your hand in 049s.
"I should also mention that 049 was flirting with you the first time you two had met. We had discussed it when you were on a stroll with 682, I believe."
"Disgusting..." 682 grumbles out his most famous word while you smiled at 049. Hell, it was a weird family but it was far better than the one you had. It was a shame your sister couldn't be there with you but you always felt her presence just like the birds. You would never be alone, but you accepted that fate gladly.

Random One Shots
FanfictionThe title pretty much sums it up. Most of the one shots will be the reader (you) and a character either from a game, TV show, movie, anime, book character, etc. I do NOT own the characters, the characters photos or you... that would be weird. Also...
