Perfection.
She is perfection.

I could barely contain myself when I saw her walk into the cafeteria arm in arm with Jessica. I wanted nothing but to scoop her in my arms and claim her as mine but I didn't know if she even read the books or even knew about me so it took all my strength to continue sitting next to Alice. I watched as she grabbed her food and walked towards a table where the rest of her friends sat, she hadn't noticed me yet, she was too busy looking like she was going to throw up at the schools idea of food. We laughed when we heard her call it slop. It was true, I wasn't even human and even I wouldn't touch it.

She didn't look behind her during lunch and I felt my heart drop. She was too busy talking and joking around like any normal teenager would. I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was beautiful.

My families thoughts were all the same. They were ecstatic that she was real and she was here.

'Haha if she thinks that food is disgusting, wait until she first tastes animal blood' Emmett.

'Her emotions are so pure. She really is a nice person, I hope I'll be able to restrain myself. It'll be nice not wanting to kill her' Jasper.

'I thought she would look plain, but she's actually quite beautiful. I can't wait to be friends' Rosalie.

'Omg she's here! I mean of course she's here we had English together! Her outfit is so cute! Where did she get that skirt from?'

It was true. Bella looked absolutely beautiful in her outfit which hugged her curves perfectly and showed off her long legs. I suddenly thought about them being wrapped around me in a night of passion but I shook it off. Now wasn't the time to think of that.

It was hard sitting so close to her and not touch her. Her scent hit me like a wave but I fought off the monster inside that was begging to come out and taste her blood. Venom filled my mouth but I swallowed it, I knew I would get used to it. I would never harm her or let anyone else harm her.

My thoughts drifted to this morning when I dragged my siblings out of the door, I just managed to say goodbye to my parents before we were speeding towards the school. My Volvo arrived just in time which I was thankful for, I couldn't take another moment driving in that rubbish rental car. We arrived to school before anyone else and quickly grabbed our schedules and the map before heading back to the car park.

The whole time I was a nervous wreck and Jasper had a hard time keeping me calm. Students started arriving and like usual, the stares and talks started but I ignored them. My senses were looking out for any sign on Bella. We stayed out in the lot for as long as we could but decided we best start heading to class before the bell rang in five minutes. My hope started fading, my thoughts were occupied by her not being real.

I walked with Alice to her first class and made her promise to let me know if Bella turned up. She promised she would and headed off into English and I slowly headed to maths. No one tried to approach me, clearly it was showing on my face that I didn't want to socialise.

Two minutes before the bell rang, Alice's thoughts suddenly turned ecstatic and I nearly jumped out of my seat which caused some humans to look at me strangely. I ignored them.

'She's here!'

My hope came back and my spirits lifted. She was real. She was here. I hoped that Alice wasn't playing a prank on me but when I saw her enter the cafeteria-after the morning had dragged painfully slow - all of that vanished.

The rest of lunch passed slowly. My family were making small talk, chuckling whenever they heard Bella complain about the food. I barely spoke, my eyes never left the back of her head. It probably looked creepy but I couldn't find it in me to care. Jessica, one of the most annoying students looked at me and all of her thoughts vanished and replaced with scenes of us two doing some very x rated stuff together. If I could throw up, I would.

"What?" I heard my sweet angel ask her friend.

"Edward Cullen is staring at you"

Bella froze and her hate rate picked up. It sounded like music to my ears and I made a mental note to always remember the sound of her heart. Her breath hitched but she quickly tried to calm her breathing down. I tried to read her mind, a part of me knowing it was impossible especially with her mental shield, but it didn't stop me from trying. It didn't work, of course.

"She's nervous," Jasper said, smiling. "She's got a lot of emotions going through her right now. Hope, nervousness, relief and excitement."

"If she's feeling relief, she's read the books" Rosalie said, glancing over at Bella who was still trying to control her breathing.

Alice squealed. "She knows! We need to speak to her"

As much as I would like to speak to her, I knew this wasn't the place. I didn't want to overwhelm her.

"Not yet," I said breaking my gaze from Bella.
"There's a time and a place for that"

"Eddies right," I huffed at the nickname Emmett called me. "We don't wanna scare her away"

The others agreed and soon lunch was over. Bella didn't look over at us once which made my dead heart drop but I could tell by her breathing, she was really nervous. The bell rang and we all gathered our stuff, I stood up and turned around ready to walk to Biology when my gaze locked on the most beautiful brown eyes.

Bella had turned at the same time as me and our eyes locked. She gasped and I knew she could feel the electricity flow between us and it was like the world around us vanished. It was just me and her.

I snapped out of it but didn't take my eyes off her. I smiled and had the satisfaction of hearing her heart speed up. It was a beautiful sound.

"Hello"

She shook her head, snapping out of whatever she was thinking.

"Hi"
