"what are you saying? When did we have that kind of law? The Trident choose it's owner, not me! Not even you?"
The king grits his teeth, he doesn't like to have this argument in front of his son and grandchildren but his brother is good at provoking him

"You don't have to get angry brother.. I'm just suggesting and it's for the good of all our people. Can't you see that they are being neglected, you probably didn't notice it because you're busy doing things you need to do but have you seen their situations in outskirts? They need a leader that can give their need so they wouldn't think to leave the sea.. most of them wanted to leave the sea to what? To become just like your daughter" he smirks showing how little he sees one of the princess

The King doesn't like where this conversation is going. Hyacinth and Lily wanted to show their objections by joining their conversation but their uncle Jin strictly reminds them not to say a single word before coming with him

They are just there to listen but Hyacinth doesn't know until when he's going to allow him to bad mouthing their mother.. it's a clear sign of disrespecting her as one of the heir

His grandfather rise from his throne and point a finger on him
"I hope you know what's the meaning of your words dear brother! You're not just disrespecting me or the throne. Your talking nonsense about the supposed Queen of one of the seventh seas"
He carefully reminded him but he doesn't care. Taehyung is not even there to hear his words

Hadrianus laughs with a mocking tone
"Supposed to be queen you said.. that word comes from you dear brother, but where exactly she is now? Neglecting her people? Wavering them in the hands of your first born! She even chooses to live with a human"

Jin rolls his eyes at him, since Taehyung decided to have a family on land, she assigned his hyung to help their Father, didn't know that all this time, one of his uncles didn't settle with it well. It just came to their  knowledge that he's always had a problem with their family since there's no way he can sit on the throne and now insisting that they should have a pure blooded as a King

Jin raises his hand to ask permission to speak. His father raises his hand to give the moment for him while he falls back from sitting. He needs to calm down for a while before his emotions could burst

"I'm sorry but I'm confused.. what exactly are you suggesting? From all the things you have said.. the only thing clear for me is your accusations to my sister of neglecting her duty and becoming an example to others to leave our place. We can't restrain them by doing so? If they think they can live peacefully on land, who are we to stop them? As far as I know, I'm taking my job seriously as her regent for you to say that I'm not giving them the proper care they should have!"

He fall back from sitting on his throne as a prince but his uncle stand again to insists his opinions on them

"i get what are you saying but I think the kingdom needs a new leader. A new king that truly cares for his vassals"

He smiles like he already wins the argument and Lily all wants to do is to erase his lips literally out of his face

The king sigh. He looks to everyone like he's asking for help. Hyacinth looks at his grandpa with soft eyes. He wants to speak and defend his mother and the king motion his hand for him

"You want to say something, my child?"

"Your Majesty, I have been listening for a while now but as far as I understand.. i couldn't comprehend what he means by a new leader, new ruler... if the Trident is the one choosing for the next King, what he will do to make it choose the one he wanted? he said the kingdom needs a pure blooded heir that makes me have no rights to be the next in throne just because I'm half human but that wouldn't take away the part of me being a mermaid.. half of being me comes to my mother that comes to you too grandpa so what's the fuss about it. It doesn't matter if I'm half breed. It has nothing to do with how I will rule your kingdom and being what I am is nothing to be ashamed of. Not to mention his belittling words to the queen.. having a family on land didn't make her any less of a mermaid. She's still the queen as far as I know and I want to suggest a punishment for what he said"
