For the past couple weeks we have noticed the fencing around the property of the Yellowstone ranch has constantly been cut, damaged or plainly trampled over. We couldn't figure out what had been doing such a thing. Turns out Mr Dutton had found that tourists were cutting the fence to observe wild life, that was including bears. Big mean terrifying creatures. No matter how many times he kicked the tourists out, they continued to come back for more. Not only was the human race cutting the fencing down, turns out the massive bears wondering the land had trampled down barbed wire gracefully with no issues. The issues were for us now. Rip and I had been attempting to track this bear to scare it far away from our heard. Our herd had quickly became victims of one of the earths most dangerous mammal. I refused to track down bears for years. I hated bears more than any other creature, other than pigs of course. I specifically refused to search for bears on horse back. I hated horses almost as much as bears. I chose to walk on foot for most of the hunting. I held the rifle on my side as I trampled the woods. I carefully stepped around branches and rocks as I limped along the river. Falling in was a new fear unlocked. it was mourning as I searched for this bear. The weather was getting so cold the dew on the grass was freezing. Not to long ago I was stepping through the soaked grass to greet my husband before he left me for good. Now that grass is solid to the ground just awaiting the sun to warm up the dew. I was waiting for the same thing. I stumbled out into the sun; into an open field before the river. Just when I've given up on the bear that's when I saw the giant grizzly raising its giant paws in defense. But who was that battling against the mammal. No other but Casey Dutton. Casey screamed. Casey yelled to seem bigger and meaner than the beast in front of him. It wasn't working. Casey pleaded with god as he apologized to his son for what the animal might do. Before the bear could harm Casey I shot a bullet above the bear. The bear of course coward away. Yelping and roaring at the earth for its protection. The bear vanished as did Casey's horse. "The hell are you doin out here?!" I shouted. Casey stared down at me like he had just met Jesus himself. "What's did you do that for? I had it!" He shouted back down at me. We met in the middle of shouting. "No you didn't. That thing was gonna kill you!"
"What's it to you!"
"What are you doing here" I asked as I was confused he had returned at all. "Training my dad's horse" he looked around to realize the horse had ran off. "Nice horse" I spoke. Casey sighed before rubbing his face with stress. "What are you doing out here?" Casey questioned. "Hunting that bear to scare it away. Unfortunately I think I scared it closer to the herd"
"Why are you of all people going after a bear"
"I clearly attract bears"
"Fair enough"
I looked Casey up and down. "Ain't you gonna ask me why I'm training a horse?"
"You have a lot of patience. I could understand why you would be good at it. What I'm questioning is why your hair is so long. You look like a lesbian" I said as I placed my hands on my hips. Casey laughed. "I like it" Casey shook his mane. "Fancy You look thin. You doing okay?" He questioned. I didn't want him to bring up any topics about me. Now we're getting too deep. "Yeah. Now if you'll excuse me I have a bear to threaten" I stepped past him up the hill. After a couple steps Casey said "you look good. You always look good. You just need to look out for yourself fancy. Not sure if the people around you will" Casey spoke with a loud shout as I traveled away from him. I ignored him to go on with my day as if that didn't break my heart. As if seeing Casey and talking to Casey didn't tare my heart into pieces. I knew if I spoke to him I would feel so broken. So I quickly moved away. "Anything!?" Rip shouted from the top. "Yeah! Grizzly almost took off Casey's head!" I shouted as I made my way up the hill. "Casey's down there?" Rip questioned. I nodded. "Fuck is he doing here?"
"It's as if he grew up here and his father lives here" I shrugged sarcastically. Rip stared out across the grassland to see Casey's horse running towards us. "Woah! Woah!" Rip spoke as he grappled the horse's reigns. "Fuck sakes" rip mumbled as he led the horse down the hill to give back to Casey. Rip never liked Casey. He found him to be a twerp who never respected his father nor wanted anything to do to help his father. Rip and I had to take his place. Although I knew the way Casey was treated. I grew up with Casey. I knew the ups and downs of him and his father's relationship. I knew the horrible things. I understood why he wouldn't want to come back. I myself was a victim of a mean father too. Rip on the other hand doesn't understand. He looks up to John like a father as he should of course. He would do anything and everything for John no matter the price. Casey hates rip for that too. Although I minded my business. I ignored everything about Casey throughout the years other than what I could
Gather from lee. From afar I watched as rip and Casey began to tussle. I stood with a blank stare as they looked so fuckin stupid just randomly fighting for god knows what reason. I shouted "y'all done!?" I grumbled as I walked toward them. "Should I ask my father if you're done? Maybe he can loosen your leash up a bit" Casey scoffed as he wiped blood from my mouth. "Fuck you say you little fuck!"
