A/N: sorry this chapter is a bit long, but it's a good one :)

As Y/N stood at the drink bar, feeling a twinge of disappointment at the realization that Diluc's duties would likely keep him occupied for the duration of the gala, she found herself approached by a charming stranger. The stranger wore a masquerade mask that concealed his features, adding an air of mystery to his presence. He had ginger hair with a slightly blonde streak in it.

"Good evening," he greeted her with a voice tinged with intrigue, his tone playful yet undeniably charming. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the room. My apologies for the secrecy, but tonight, I prefer to keep my identity hidden."

Y/N couldn't help but be intrigued by the enigmatic stranger before her. Despite the concealment of his face, she sensed a captivating energy radiating from him, a magnetic pull that drew her in despite her better judgment.

"It's quite all right," she replied with a small smile, her curiosity piqued by the stranger's mysterious aura. "I must admit, I'm intrigued by your choice of disguise."

The stranger's masked gaze seemed to sparkle with amusement as he regarded her, his eyes betraying a hint of mischief beneath the facade of anonymity. "Ah, the mask adds an element of intrigue, don't you think?" he remarked, his voice laced with playful charm. "After all, who doesn't enjoy a bit of mystery now and then?"

"It's not often one encounters such ethereal beauty," Childe continued, his gaze lingering on her with a mixture of admiration and curiosity. "You possess a certain aura, a divine presence that sets you apart from mere mortals."

Y/N's heart fluttered at his words, a mixture of uncertainty and fascination swirling within her at the accuracy of his assessment. She had always been aware of her otherworldly nature. But to have a stranger see through her carefully crafted facade with such ease left her feeling exposed, vulnerable in a way she hadn't anticipated.

"Thank you," she murmured softly, her voice barely above a whisper as she struggled to find the right words to convey her thoughts. "Your words are...perceptive, to say the least."

Though she couldn't deny the thrill of validation that coursed through her veins at Childe's compliment, Y/N couldn't shake the nagging sense of caution that tugged at the edges of her consciousness. There was more to this charming stranger than met the eye, she knew, and she would do well to tread carefully in his presence, lest she risk revealing more than she intended.

As Childe inquired about Y/N's connection to Diluc, she found herself momentarily taken aback by the directness of his question. Sensing the need for caution, she offered a measured response, careful not to reveal too much.

"Our acquaintance is...recent," she began, her words deliberate yet tinged with curiosity. "We met under unusual circumstances, but I've found him to be a gracious host and a...kindred spirit, in some ways."

Y/N's gaze lingered on Childe, her eyes reflecting a blend of curiosity and caution. She couldn't help but wonder about the man behind the mask, the enigmatic figure whose presence exuded an air of mystery and intrigue. Despite her wariness, there was a part of her that was genuinely intrigued by Childe's interest in her connection to Diluc, prompting her to engage in the conversation with a blend of sociability and caution.

"As for our connection..." she continued, her voice trailing off slightly as she chose her words with care. "Let's just say that fate has a way of bringing unlikely companions together in unexpected ways."

Her response was deliberately vague, revealing enough to satisfy Childe's curiosity without divulging the intricacies of her relationship with Diluc. She knew the importance of maintaining a certain level of discretion.
