December 2024
The final night of the Eras Tour had finally arrived, and Taylor was nervous to say the least. Everything was going smoothly so far, and Taylor had been reassured that no one seemed to notice the slightly longer interlude between the Evermore and reputation sets, which had given her a much needed moment to catch her breath and allow her stomach to settle.
Luckily, Travis had a Thursday night game that week, so he had been able to make the trip out to Vancouver to support her through this huge moment. He had opted to stay backstage this time, which gave him the chance to check in on her between eras and make sure she was staying hydrated and still feeling okay.
Ever since they had found out about the baby, Travis had been slightly overprotective of her, but he felt like it was completely justified. Her first trimester hadn't been the easiest, and she had to be medicated for her severe morning sickness in order to continue performing. She had just hit 20 weeks and her small bump was starting to become more apparent, but luckily it was still small enough that the rigid bodysuits and flowing dresses she wore on stage made it almost impossible to notice unless you already knew it was there.
Taylor had gone home to Kansas City for their anatomy scan earlier in the week, where they had found out that they were having a healthy little girl. They had reached out to a photographer Taylor had worked with several times and arranged a last minute photoshoot in their backyard. They had captured a few gorgeous images of Taylor and Travis together, showing off Taylor's slight bump in a beautiful pink dress. They had sent their favorites off to Taylor's team, trusting them to create an announcement image they could use.
Taylor could feel her nerves growing as she changed into the 1989 costume, the pink set of course - a little Easter egg for the upcoming announcement. Travis gave her a quick kiss once she was changed, gently caressing Taylor's small bump and promising that he would be waiting for her after she finished with the surprise songs.
Taylor let out a shaky breath as she grabbed the guitar, quickly checking that it was tuned properly as she rambled to the fans about this being the final show and how much their support had meant to her. She felt herself relax as the crowd cheered louder when the realized what song she was playing. The song had quickly become a fan-favorite following the release of The Tortured Poets Department, but up until today she had never performed it live. But she couldn't resist the idea of using the song to share her and Travis's exciting news with the world. By the time she reached the outro, she was riding the high of the crowd singing along.
Screamin', "But Daddy I love him
I'm having his baby"She heard the screams grow louder as she stopped singing, shifting the guitar to her side as her hands caressed her small bump. One of the photos they had taken appeared on the big screen, the one where Travis had made her laugh when he dropped down to his knees to kiss her belly.

She took a moment to allow the news to sink in, not only for the thousands of fans filling the stadium, but also for the millions of fans she knew where watching on the Taylor Nation Instagram live. As she shifted her guitar back into place, she couldn't help but laugh as she sang the final line of the song:
But, oh, my God, you should see your faces!
She closed out the final acoustic set with one last rendition of You're On Your Own, Kid, the song that had truly defined the Eras Tour and changed her life in ways she never could have imagined when she wrote it three years ago.
Travis was waiting for her as she slid down under the stage, a necessary change they had made once Taylor found out she was pregnant and couldn't be belly flopping onto a crash pad. He quickly wrapped her in a hug before getting her to take a few sips of water as she was helped into her Midnights bodysuit for the final time.
"I'm so proud of you, baby girl," Travis whispered as he walked her to the lift for her entrance.
"The announcement is up on Instagram," Tree informed them as they reached the lift, "The fans are going wild, as expected."
"Go crush these last few songs, Tay. I'll be waiting for you when you leave the stage," Travis promised, blowing her one more kiss as she rose out of sight.
