Chapter 73

Y/n's POV

Dad and I were beating up the soldiers that were surrounding us while everyone else was trying to recover from the fight with Azuma. As we were fighting, an explosion and an odd ringing sound came from somewhere. "I didn't like the sound of that." Dad said.

"Neither did I. I hope one of our guys cast that thing." Happy added.

"I'm getting really tired of these jerkwads playing in our backyard." Dad said.

"Yeah, well, we don't have much of a choice since they're already here." I added, knocking a few more into each other. 

"There's so many of them. What do you think they want?" Happy asked.

"I don't know, and to be honest, I don't care. Everyone of these grimy hamburgers is about to feel the burn!" Dad shouted.

"Dad, they're from the dark guild Grimoire Heart." I corrected.

"Who cares! We're gonna beat every one of them." Dad responded. A few more soldiers came charging towards me as I used my magic to throw them into the river. Dad roared and smashed a bunch of the soldiers in the head with his magic, letting it run wild like normal while Happy flew around with soldiers following right behind him. "You're never gonna catch me!" Happy shouted. He led some of the off a cliff while I dealt with the ones charging towards me with some of the surrounding water. "Lily!" Wendy and Carla shouted. I looked back, seeing Lily fall to the ground after knocking some of the soldiers out. I turned abck to the soldiers taking out a few more as they rushed towards me with weapons. "You guys should hide. Natsu, Y/n and I will take care of these guys." Happy said. 

"But..." Wendy started. 

"Celestia, now's not the time to worry about us. Dad and I will easily take these guys out!" I shouted. Carla agreed with me, wishing the three of us luck in our fight with the Grimoire Heart soldiers. "You're serious?" Wendy asked. 

"Don't feel bad. Leave this to the real heroes of this story." Happy said. I shook my head before knocking a group of soldiers out with my Water Dragon Iron Fist spell. "Aw come one, don't tell me you're done already. Invading our island is bad enough, but my precious scarf turned to black has me burning up with anger." Dad said. I looked over, seeing that his scarf really had turned black instead of its normal white color. "What? You're just venting on us?" A soldier asked. Most of them were confused about why dad was just letting loose on them. "I'll do more than turn it black. I'll turn it to ash." A soldier said, landing behind dad. The soldier that landed behind dad decided to cast a Fire Bullet spell towards dad which I just shook my head at. "Come to papa!" Dad shouted. The fire engulfed him while the soldiers looking at me started laughing. "Look at that! One of them's already down!" A soldier shouted.

"Don't go getting your hopes up. He's not that easy to take down." I said. The rest of the soldiers near dad were cheering as the one that casted the spell was gloating about how powerful his spell was before I heard dad eating the fire. "What the hell?" The soldier asked. The soldier began freaking out about how dad was eating the fire. "Wait is he the one everyone talks about?" A Soldier asked. 

"Thanks for the snack! Now I've got a fire in my belly." Dad said. 

"The dragon slayer, Natsu the Salamander?!" Another soldier asked. Dad rushed forward casting Fire Dragon Wing attack while I followed behind him. "Water Dragon Roar!" I shouted, blasting the soldier that were flung into the air away from us. I landed next to dad ready to continue the fight. "That's the Water Dragon Slayer, Y/n Salamander's daughter!" A soldier shouted. 

"They're too much for us." A soldier said.

"We should get out of here." Another complained. 

"No matter what we throw at these monster we can't touch them." Another soldier added.

"Who you calling a monster?" Dad asked. Dad and I were glaring at the soldiers waiting to here who they were calling monsters. "Enough already. I can't watch anymore." Someone said. A guy with blonde hair walked over standing above us on a cliff's edge  looking down at us. "It's Zancrow." A soldier said.

"Leave them to me, I was hoping to get some exercise on this trip. I'll pound these runts int o the dirt while you go look for Zeref. Judging by what I've seen so far it shouldn't take more than a few minutes." Zancrow said.

"Zeref?" Dad asked.

"Isn't Zeref dead?" I asked. The soldiers left thanking Zancrow for taking us on before Zancrow turned to look at the soldiers. "Hold it right there!" Zancrow ordered. The soldiers stopped in their tracks and looked up at Zancrow. "He's strong? These Fairy Tail panzies scare you?" Zancrow asked. The soldiers began asking for forgiveness saying that what they said was a mistake. "There's no guild in this world that can come close to the strength of Grimoire Heart.  Understand?" Zancrow asked. His body ignited with black flames in a similar way to how dad's does when he's upset with our enemies. "If you think he's stronger than us then you don't belong here." Zancrow said. The power coming off of Zancrow was radiating down towards us as he looked at the soldiers. "And as of now... You're all out of the guild!" Zancrow shouted. The black flames that were surrounding him erupted from the ground around the soldiers. The flames consumed the soldiers killing them as Zancrow laughed about what he did. I looked up at Zancrow anger starting to boil over as he laughed about killing his own guildmates. "You jerk! how could you do that to your friends?" Dad asked.

"They weren't my friends. It's not your busniess anyway and if I were as weak as you I'd be careful about who I run my mouth to." Zancrow said. He launched a spell towards us before dad stepped forward. "Natsu! Those flames are bad don't let them touch you!" Wendy shouted. I roared before slamming my hands on the ground. "Water Dragon Shield!" I shouted. The flames and my water shield clashed for a while before the flames eventually went out. "I don't think you can eat those flames, dad." I said. Dad looked at me shocked. "I'm amazed that my fire didn't just burn both of you away. Guess there just needs to be some more." Zancrow said. 

"Y/n, I'll deal with him. You make sure to defend Wendy and the others." Dad said.

"You sure? We could easily beat him together." I asked. Dad nodded before I jumped back towards where Wendy and the others were. Zancrow launched another wave of black flames towards dad which consumed him, but after taking the hit dad stood there standing as Zancrow jumped down to meet him. "Serves you right for eating above your stature and disregarding your support, little dragon hunter. You like my divine flames?" Zancrow asked. 

"What do you mean divine flames?" Dad asked. 

"Exactly what it sounds like. My magic is way out of your league, you're up against a god slayer. Make peace with your own facts." Zancrow said.

"A god slayer?" Wendy asked. I growled and stood in front of her ready to protect everyone with my magic. Dad and Zancrow went back and forth insulting each other for a second ebfore they charged at each other.
