-Y/n Pov-

***

As I made my way through the halls of Midtown University, I couldn't help but feel a heaviness in my chest that seemed to weigh me down with every step.

Suddenly, Ned appeared in front of me, his brows furrowed with concern.

Ned-Y/N! What happened between you and Peter?

He asked, his voice laced with worry.

Ned-He said you're not a part of our group anymore.

I felt my throat tighten as I met his gaze, the weight of the situation threatening to crush me.

Y-I... I don't really want to talk about it, Ned

I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

But Ned wasn't about to let it go.

Ned-Come on, Yn

He pressed, his eyes pleading with me.

Ned-You guys are always together. What happened?

I sighed, knowing I couldn't keep it from him any longer.

Y-Peter and I... we broke up

I confessed, the words feeling foreign and painful on my tongue.

Ned's eyes went wide with shock.

Ned-What? You and Peter were dating?

He exclaimed, his voice low but laced with disbelief.

I nodded, the tears welling up in my eyes once again.

Y-Yeah, we were

I replied, my voice trembling.

Y-But it's over now. Peter... he doesn't want me in his life anymore.

Ned's expression softened, and he reached out to give my arm a gentle squeeze.

Ned-I'm so sorry, Y/N

He said sincerely.

Ned-I had no idea. What happened?

I took a shaky breath, the whole sordid tale spilling out before I could stop it.

I told him about how I had been tasked with keeping an eye on Peter, how I had betrayed his trust, and how it had all come crashing down in the worst possible way.

As I finished, Ned's face was a mix of shock and sympathy.

Ned-Wow, Y/N

He breathed.

Ned-I had no idea. That's... that's a lot to handle.

I nodded, wiping away the tears that had escaped down my cheeks.

Y-Yeah, tell me about it

I muttered, my voice heavy with defeat.

Just then, movement in the corner of my eye caught my attention, and my heart plummeted as I saw Peter and Liz standing together.

Liz was smiling, her hand behind her back as she looked at him seductively, and I felt a wave of nausea wash over me.

Ned must have noticed the change in my demeanor, because he quickly stepped in front of me, blocking my view.

Ned-Hey, Y/N, it's going to be okay

He said, his voice low and soothing.

Ned- I love my bestfriend but Peter's a jerk for treating you like this. You deserve so much better.
