-Y/n Pov-

Before I could respond, a booming voice rang out from behind him.

?-Is that Y/N? OH MY GOSH HONEY!!A AVENGER IS AT OUR DOOR FOR NED?!

??-WHAT?!

Ned's father exclaimed, pushing his way to the front door.

?-I always knew my boy would make us proud one day.
Well, come in, come in!

He ushered, a huge grin spreading across his face.

Y-you have a lovely home.

?-Thank you, Thank you.

I stammered, stepping inside the warmth of the Leed family home.

Y-I'm sorry to just show up unannounced, but... I was hoping you'd let me take Ned to Homecoming?

Ned's parents exchanged excited glances, and his mother rushed forward, enveloping me in a tight hug.

??-Of course, of course! U don't have to ask, Right Ned?

Ned-...R-Right.

She exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy.

??-We're so thrilled you're here. And an Avenger, no less!

I felt a blush creep up my cheeks, and I offered them a sheepish smile.

Y-It's really not a big deal

I murmured, my gaze drifting back to Ned, who was still staring at me in a state of disbelief.

?-Not a big deal?

Ned's father scoffed, clapping me on the back.

?-You're practically royalty, my dear! Come, come, let's get some pictures! With us too.

Before I could protest, they were ushering Ned and me into the living room, snapping photo after photo of us together, then getting some of themselves with me

I couldn't help but feel a little self-conscious, but the Leed family's boundless enthusiasm was infectious, and I found myself relaxing into the moment.

Finally, Ned's parents stepped back, beaming with pride.

??-Alright, you two, have a wonderful time at Homecoming!

Ned's mother gushed, giving me one last hug.

Ned and I made our way out to my car, the silence between us almost palpable.

Ned-Yn, I... I don't know what to say

He stammered, his eyes still wide with wonder, awe, and confusion

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what I needed to say.

Y-Ned, I'm so sorry for the way I've been acting

I began, my voice soft but sincere.

Y-I was going through a lot, and I took it out on you, and that wasn't fair. You've been such a good friend, and I'm so grateful for you.

Ned's expression softened, and he reached out, squeezing my hand gently.

Ned-It's okay, Yn

He said.

Ned-I understand. I'm just glad you're here now.

I smiled, feeling a weight lift from my shoulders. Impulsively, I leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.

Ned's eyes went wide, and I could see the blush creeping up his neck.

Y-Thank you, Ned

I whispered, my heart swelling with gratitude.
