IF ONLY.....

Living with unanswered questions,
In this life divided into sections.
The innocent grow to know regret,
Of what's referred in past tense.
It always starts with 'if only...'
Then guilt engulfs you wholly.

Regret is a so heavy burden;
Targets your peace, destroys what's current.
It's a pending question, only you have the answer;
But for your reaction, time will make you suffer.
Sticky like glue you endure it forever;
Unless you do the right, be your own savior.

If only I had chosen differently that day?
Would I be living in torment feeling this way?
It's a matter of "think before you leap"
Which is the better option for you to grip.
We live experiences molded by decisions.
Climbing a staircase made of conclusions.

But darling keep a listening ear,
To what I have to say right here.
It may be a curse to be branded mortal,
But you have the chance to make your portal.
The answer to that, be a master of time;
Actions speak louder, become a mime.
Aging can be a blessing or a curse,
Depending on how you spend your past.
It's a drifting boat but it's not too late,
To take control, for peace be bait.

Now allow me to talk about LOVE.
True love is rare, beautiful thing to have.
Most confuse it with a feel-good moment,
The result of a well thought comment.
But darling if you're sure of your feelings,
Take the risk, block out their thinking.
Do it darling before you cave in,
And for your delay you start blaming.
If only I had confessed my love; been brave,
Would I hurt to see him with another; his touch to crave?
