Chapter 124: Sightseer's Compass

Naging seryoso ang tingin ni Haiem dahil sa tanong ni Kuya. "Some say that this cube's power could be compared to a whisper of a gentle breeze. However, others describe it as a weapon that could summon a Singularity...powerful enough to wipe out an entire realm from both existence and remembrance."

While Haiem was explaining, I was just staring at the cube, while its rings slowly revolved and rotated around it. I didn't know if I was just imagining that I was hearing things, but it was as if the Cube of Cataclysms and Redemption... was humming a very faint tune.

Saglit akong napatingin kay Koji at Kuya nang marinig ko iyon. Pero nakatuon ang pansin nilang dalawa kay Haiem na nagpapaliwanag. That's strange. But since I thought I was just imagining things; I didn't mind it anymore and focused on what Haiem was talking about.

"This is why none have been chosen yet by the Cube of Cataclysms and Redemption, which is why it has never had a wielder. In case you haven't encountered this piece of knowledge, the weapons in The Court of Armaments themselves shall choose who will wield them. Most of the time it's like that. Humupa ng kaunti ang excitement ng Court Guard nang maputol ang mabilis niyang pagpapaliwanag, at nagtanong siya ng may tingin ng pagka-lito. "Uh, did I get it wrong?"

Koji shook his head. "No. Your intuition is correct. We do need the Sightseer's Compass, but we aren't going to use its path clearing function. For now, I guess."

"Then what function of the compass do you need?"

"We need to find someone here in the Timeless Eventide—"

"Oh, no, no, no, no!" natatawang saad ni Haiem at bumalik na ang excited at masayahing expression niya. "Please don't tell me your task. Please. I am not allowed to hear such things."
