Megha didn't care about anything else and quickly went to the hospital.
Priya immediately noticed parts of Megha's silky hair were turning very rough and breaking off.
"Oh my God. What is happening?" Priya gasped.
They quickly reached the hospital. The trichologist looked at Megha and got scared. After a series of assessments and quick detoxifying medication, Megha was finally okay.
The doctor said, "An industrial dose was likely added. We still need to find out what exactly it was. It looks like your scalp and body are fine. As for your hair..."
Megha touched her hair and felt it was messy and much shorter. Her wedding was in just two weeks! What would she do now?
"How... how do I look? Priya, give me a mirror. Is... is my hair all gone?"
Priya looked at her speechlessly. "Don't worry. You're not bald. It's just that a large part of your hair broke off."
"How bad is it? Tell me. I can take it," Megha said with clenched fists, her voice hoarse.
Priya hesitated. "Take a look for yourself." She held a mirror in front of Megha.
Megha saw that half of her hair had broken off and was now only a few inches long. There were some long strands mixed with the short ones, making her look like a crazy person.
"Oh my God. I'm hideous." Megha quickly tossed the mirror away.
But she picked it up again, hoping to find something salvageable.
There wasn't.
"No way. I have a dinner to attend. If I go like this, I'll embarrass Gautam."
Priya tried to calm her. "Don't worry. I'll get the stylist to think of something."
Megha collapsed. "What will I do? Everyone will laugh at Gautam for having such an ugly wife."
Priya said, "Please don't think like that. Be glad nothing happened to your face. If you hadn't felt something was off, your face could've been ruined."
Megha touched her face, feeling scared in hindsight.
She had sensed something was wrong and acted quickly. Now, thinking about it, she realized how serious it could have been.
"Oh my God, who would try to disfigure me?"
"I believe someone is trying to harm you. It must be someone who has a grudge against you or the Kapoors. They even know about your wedding."
