Demons walked out of the shadows, wielding weapons built to kill angels.

"Gabriel get the others out of here" Mike ordered,

"We're not leaving you!" Uriel argued,

Mike nodded, "I can take them, by you time. You lot haven't mastered your powers yet. So Gabriel GO!" he yelled.

Gabby grabbed the groups, ready to take them away. But at the last minute, Zads let go.

"What the hell are you doing!" Mike yelled at him,

"You're fallen, not tapping into the black magic power either. You can't take all these Demons by yourself" Zads argued, "You taught me to fight without my power as well remember"

Mike summoned a spear and handed it to Zads, "Well you'll need this"

Zads took the spear and twirled it in his hands, "Just like the good old days"

A sword appeared in Michael's hands, "Exactly"

The demons charged the duo, who immediately whirled into action. Fighting like they had done for centuries, covering each others backs. Demons fell by the dozens, but more and more came at them. If it was just like the good old days then Michael could have wiped them all out with a snap of his fingers. But it wasn't. Slowly the two grew tired, Zadkiel faster than Michael.

Their movements slowed slightly, but the demons kept on coming,

"We planning on leaving any time soon?" Zadkiel asked,

"I can't multitask as well anymore" Mike said through gritted teeth, "There's too many demons for me to be able to get us out of here"

"Call Gabriel back then!" The younger angel suggested,

Mike once again shook his head, "Too much of a risk, hence why I didn't want you here!"

"I'm regretting it, trust me" He yelled,

The duo kept fighting for as long as they could, back to back. Eventually they got overwhelmed, and Michael heard a roar of pain behind him. Turning in surprise, his eyes widened to see a demon with it's sword through Zads stomach.

"NO!" Mike roared, an explosive blast of dark magic flying out from him and disintegrating every demon in the area.

He rushed and caught the dying angel in his arms, "No!" he cried out, more pain in his voice this time,

"You couldn't have done that earlier" Zads chuckled, blood spilling out of his mouth,

"I should have done, I'm sorry" He apologised,

The dying angel nodded, "It's okay, just promise me one thing"

"Anything brother" the archangel promised,

"No more angels" he asked, "Don't let anymore of us die"

Mike nodded, "I promise"

"It... was nice to see you again... brother" He whispered, before his eyes became glassy.

Mike held his brother close, tears streaming down his face as a storm roared over head. Lightning crashing down all around him and rain coming down like bullets from a gun.

Raising his head up to the sky Mike screamed in anger, his eyes burning blue in the night.

The pain, of a man who had lost another part of his family.

-- Line Break --

Across the ocean, the angels who had appeared in Mike's office felt the explosion of power in Israel. Even Hope felt it down in maple hollows.

"Mike" Hope whispered, her eyes flashing yellow, "We need to get back now" Hope told Ric.

They had lost the urn to Triad and were now coming up with a plan for what to do next.

"We're going Hope" Ric told her,

"Faster!" She demanded, "Somethings happened with Mike"

Alaric nodded and put his foot down. Lizzie, hearing Hope's words was just as concerned.

Back at the school, Mike had reappeared holding the body of Zadkiel,

"Zads!" Jophiel cried out, running to her brother. Mike lay him on his desk. His expression emotionless, "What happened?"

"Demons, they just kept coming" Mike explained, "There were too many"

Chamuel buried her head in Uriel's chest, who held her tight. Gabriel stood, tears in her eyes with her hand covering her mouth.

"I couldn't save him" The archangel whispered, a tear coming down his cheek,

Suddenly the door to his office flew open and Hope was there, "Mike?" She asked in surprise,

Mike raised his red eyes to her, "Not now Hope" he snapped, unintentionally.

Hope quickly surveyed the room, seeing a group of people she didn't recognise crying. And a body lay on the desk.

Instead of leaving like he had asked, Hope came up to him and embraced him. As much as he didn't like her seeing him week, he welcomed the hug. Relaxing into it as more tears started to pour down his face.

Alaric was the next to reach the door, upon seeing the scene and Mike's expression. He nodded to the archangel and shut the door. Allowing the angels to grieve their fallen brother.

Just another person to add to the list of those Mike had lost.
