Hope and Mike were sat overlooking the lake. In a comfortable silence. She'd explained to him that Landon had found out about his mom somehow and he had run off. He had explained how his sister had reminded him what was important.

"You danced" She finally realised,

Mike nodded, "It was... nice"

"Lizzie told me, she said you don't dance?" She asked, "Clearly she was wrong"

"Don't dance, and can't dance are two very different things my wolf" He explained,

"Why don't you dance?" She asked,

Mike watched the lake and sighed, "Millenia ago... there was a woman called Lilith" he started saying, "She was amazing, and I loved her"

"I didn't realise angels could love like that" Hope said in surprsie,

Mike nodded, "We feel all the emotions of humans" he explained, "But the thing with lilith was she was human. And she suffered all the temptations humans suffered"

"Sin?" Hope asked,

He nodded, "Lucy, she wanted to get back at me. I'd beaten her in a battle and she was furious. So she hit me where it hurt. She went after the one woman I loved"

"Lilith" Hope gasped,

Again Mike nodded, "She tempted her, twisted her soul until it was no longer human. Changed her from a human to the first demon"

"She betrayed you" Hope realised,

Mike nodded, "We were dancing, and she tried to kill me. Lucy had convinced her it was the only way we could be together for eternity. But all it did was cause me to reform. But when demons are too close to me when I reform. They're destroyed"

"Mike... I'm so sorry" Hope said to him, "That's horrible"

Mike smiled, "It was a long time ago my wolf"

Mike pulled a box out of his pocket. Looking at it he smiled softly, "I've been trying to find the right time to give this to you" he told her, "There was an incident a few weeks ago involving a jinni and an alternate reality"

"Alternate reality?" Hope asked in surprise,

He nodded, "It's complicated, but in one of those realities. A certain someone was alive, and gave me something to give to you"

He handed Hope the box. She looked at the Mikaelson crest on it with tears in her eyes,

"Dad..." she whispered to herself,

Mike nodded, "For what it's worth, he was a great man"

"You met him?" Hope asked,

Mike nodded, "He helped me get back home, to fix reality"

"What's in the box?" She asked,

Mike shrugged, "I don't know" He admitted, "I never opened it. I'll let you though" He told her as he went to leave.

Hope's hand attached itself to his sleeve, "Don't leave me..." she said.

Her voice sounded so... vulnerable that he wanted to wrap her up in his arms and never let anything near her.

Hope opened the box, tears in her eyes. There was a note folded in half. When she opened it she gasped at her father's handwriting. It had been so long since she saw something new written by her father. As she read through it tears came down her face faster and faster as she read it. Eventually she finished, clutching it to chest.

Placing it down on the bench next to her, she took the black cover off what was under the note. It was a necklace. A small sword with a pair of wings on it.

Michael's eyes widened in surprise at it, knowing the symbolism couldn't be true.

"It's beautiful" Hope whispered, picking it up,

She passed it to Mike, her intention clear. As she moved her hair away, Mike attached the necklace around her neck.

"Thank you for this Michael" She told him, "This is incredible"

"I wish I could have stayed in that reality" He admitted, "You were so happy. You had your family, friends. Everything you could possibly want"

"Were you there?" She asked,

He shook his head, "You didn't need me, you had everyone else"

She slipped her hand into his, "I always need you Mike. Whatever reality I'm in"

They gazed into each other's eyes. The stars twinkled above them, the moon seemed to have an ethereal glow to it that danced around Hope's eyes. Slowly, the two of them moved closer. Until they were inches apart.

And finally.

Their lips touched.
