Chapter 50: New Bounties

Several days had passed since the destruction of Elegia, and the news quickly spread around the world, where the actions of (Y/N) and his companions had become the main topic of discussion. The result was a defeat for the World Government as their mission had failed: (Y/N) and his allies had all managed to escape from Elegia, leaving the enemy fleet practically destroyed and an island in flames.

The announcement of the destruction of Elegia and the victory of (Y/N) had shocked the population of the various kingdoms and the World Government was desperately trying to improve their public image after this affront. So Marineford was on high alert after the latest events.

???: "It's unbelievable that this pirate hasn't been captured. Ever since he first appeared, the world has been shaken by his every move and we haven't been able to stop him!"

Sengoku, the Marines' Fleet Admiral, slammed his desk angrily as he read the articles about (Y/N) in the newspaper. Another older man was laughing at his friend, eating biscuits, as a goat came up to him to eat a piece of biscuit.

???: "Hahaha! These youngsters make me laugh. They're brave and lucky to have won a battle against the World Government."

Sengoku: "This is no time to be stuffing your face, Garp! The situation is serious, we've been defeated and the population of Elegia has been genocided by Wild Wind. We underestimated him and he's shown us that he's a very dangerous criminal."

Garp: "I'm telling you. If you don't take them seriously, they'll continue to evolve until they become powerful adversaries like the Four Emperors."

Sengoku: "You're right, we don't need pirates of the calibre of the Emperors appearing again. We will crush the Wild Wind Pirates before they become too great a threat to the world."

On a distant island in East Blue, there was a peaceful little windmill village called Foosha Village where there lived a young man of 16 who wore a straw hat and dreamed of becoming the greatest pirate. His name was Luffy, and he was currently eating in the village bar where he was friends with the bartender, Makino.

Makino: "I know you never read the news, but you might be surprised. It's about Uta, you used to argue, but you became friends, right?" She mentioned Uta enthusiastically to Luffy, who was using all the capacities of his brain to remember the singer.

Luffy: "Uta? I remember her! How is she? Where is she?"

???: "That pirate really is a monster, how can he dare massacre the population of an entire island? Don't follow his example, Luffy, and don't become a pirate like him."

The conversation was interrupted by the the village mayor who exclaimed as he read the newspaper while Luffy continued to eat.

Makino: "Don't worry about him. Luffy will never become a pirate like that, he's sometimes silly, but he's got a good heart."

Luffy: "Who are you talking about?"

Makino: "You really don't know? It seems a pirate called (Y/N) destroyed the Elegia Island, he even manipulated Uta to accomplish his evil plan."

Luffy: "What? Uta was manipulated by him? Is she okay?"

Makino: "I guess she's still alive since she left Elegia with (Y/N). You shouldn't worry about her since Shanks was with them, he even helped (Y/N) escape."

Luffy: "Shanks was there too? I know he'd never do something like that so if he really helped this guy then he can't be bad.

Makino: "How can you be sure?"

Luffy: "I trust Shanks. This guy's name is (Y/N)? I don't want to become like him. I'm going to become the King of the Pirates!"

Makino: "Haha! That's just like you, you're still the same despite the years."
