Kimberly stared at the clock, aware that the others were coming any minute. She sat alone in the main hall, ignoring the other soldiers that were passing her. She kept her eyes on the door, waiting excitedly to see John and Johnny again.

Her thoughts had been stuck on Simon the entire day, so she was happy that she could finally think about something else. Even if it was for just a short moment. As the doors opened, Kimberly's eyes widened. She grinned as she got up from the bench, staring at John, Johnny and Kyle as they entered the base. Kimberly laughed as she ran towards them, soon enough finding herself in her brother's arms. She hugged him tightly.

-"Woah! I could have dropped the food!" Johnny said, laughing as he hugged his sister back with his free hand. Kimberly pulled away, looking over at John. She hurried up to him as well, giving him a tight hug.
-"How are you doing?" John asked, hugging her just as tightly back.

-"I'm really good. Come on, let's go eat," Kimberly said with a grin. She lead them over to the dorms, almost pushing everyone into her room. She shut the door behind them, settling down beside Simon.

John settled down on her bed, while Kyle settled down on the chair. Johnny put the food down on the desk, taking out several packages. He handed one package and a fork to everyone, settling down beside John.
-"Did you have a look at my file?" Kimberly asked, aware that John would have checked it by now.

-"Yeah, you're at least a year away from ranking Lieutenant. I spoke with Shepherd on the phone. Apparently his idea is to have Yuri working under you on our mission, since he doesn't trust him around anyone else. You, Yuri and Phillip are going to be a team. But first he plans for us to take down El Sin Nombre. They've just found her location, so they're tracking her. You'll have your ceremony, and then we're off," John said, taking a bite of his food.

Kimberly was eating her Chinese food, loving the taste of it. She hadn't been too big of a fan earlier, but now she really craved it.
-"Is she really a priority?" Kimberly asked. "Sure she leads the Las Almas Cartel, but I think it would be more reasonable to take down Makarov first."

-"We all agree with you, but it's easier to talk reason with a rock than Shepherd. He says he has a plan, so we'll need to do as ordered. The cartel is split up and low on soldiers. This will be a quick mission," John said, aware that it sounded fishy. He was happy for Kimberly. She deserved to be ranked up, but not like this.

Silence settled as they continued to eat, enjoying the fact that everyone was gathered once more. As everyone finished their foods, things seemed to get more serious.
-"Are you certain you want to have Yuri with you on a mission?" John asked, crossing his arms.
-"Yeah, I trust him. It'll be fine," Kimberly said. "It's more Graves that I don't want to work with."

-"Understandable. He has not exactly been kind of trustworthy," Kyle said. He felt that something was fishy with Phillip as well. He was working too close with Shepherd.
-"Let's just keep our eyes peeled and our guard up. If any of you hear something suspicious, tell me. I'm really tired, so I'm just gonna go to bed. Wake me if there's anything," John said, pointing to Kimberly as he said his last sentence.

Kimberly gave him a nod before he left. Kyle excused himself and left as well, leaving Johnny alone with Kimberly and Simon.

-"So it's finally the two of you?" Johnny asked, seeing how comfortable the both of them seemed.
-"Yeah," Kimberly said, smiling towards her brother. Johnny couldn't help but smile.
-"Good. You better stick together as well - for me and that kid. I still can't believe it. I'm going to be an uncle," Johnny said, smiling widely to them.

Simon stared at Johnny as he smiled widely, and that's when he understood why Kimberly wanted to keep it. It was bringing them closer as a family, and it was exactly what she needed. Simon placed his hand around Kimberly's shoulders, pulling her closer.
-"Yeah. After our mission we're going to look for houses for sale. You're welcome to join us," Simon said, aware that Johnny wanted to be a part of this as well. Probably more than anyone else.
