Good morning, Afternoon, Evening, or night everyone! So I want to take the time to explain more about my "Friends" lmk au. This au has been on my mind for quite some time and I REALLY want to talk to you guys about it. If you don't know what the show "Friends" is, it's a sitcom from the 90s- 2000s. It's about 6 friends who live in the same apartment complex (At least most of them) and they meet regularly at a coffee house. They help each other through break ups (Some of them have gotten together and broken up too but I'll get to that later) and are always there for each other. (If you wanna know more, you can watch clips of the show on YouTube or watch it on HBO Max if you have it.)
Now that I've explained what it's about, let's talk about Characters!
Ok so first, here's a list of who is going be who and then I'll explain that characters and stuff.
Monica- Mk
Rachel- Macaque
Phoebe- Mei
Ross- Wukong
Chandler: Red son
Joey: Spindrax
Ok so first off let me explain Mk. Mk offers for Macaque to stay at his apartment after Macaque runs away from his wedding in the first episode (I'll get to that later) . Mk's personality is pretty much the same in this au except he's a bit of a neat freak (ironic I know) He's about 25 years old when the show starts and is 35 when it ends. He struggles with his love life throughout seasons 1-5 until he and Red son have sex at Wukong's rehearsal dinner in London and then figure out they have feelings for each other. Mk's applications in this au are Chef at Iridium (seasons 1–2) Waiter at The Moondance Diner (seasons 2–3) Head chef at Alessandro's (seasons 4–9) Head chef at Javu (seasons 9–10) (I literally just copy and pasted that from google) As a child/teenager he was quite over weight until his last year of high school when he lost all of it. (Fun fact. When he first met Red son in high school, he overheard him mindlessly calling him fat. That's why he was determined to lose all that weight. Red son says he doesn't remember saying anything like that about him and repeatedly apologizes for saying that and making Mk feel like that.) Oh also Mk and Wukong are siblings in this au. (Mk being the youngest one)
Second off let's talk about Macaque. So on the first episode, Mac runs away from his wedding because he didn't actually love the person he was marrying. (I still haven't figured out who Mac was going to marry. I'll figure that out later.) Mk introduces Mac to Mei and Spindrax because they don't know him. Mk, Wukong and Red son know Mac from high school. Mk offers for Mac to stay with him in his apartment since he doesn't have a place to stay. Mac eventually gets a job as a waiter at the coffee house that the six hang out at. Mac later quits his job at the coffee house and wants to get into fashion. Lucky soon after he gets offered a job opportunity. At some point Mac and Wukong get together but they eventually break up because Wukong was being a man child and then got drunk and then this and then that and then bam. But I'll talk about that later. (Don't worry they get back together at the end). Also Mac is around 28-29 when the show starts and is 38 when it ends.
Now let's talk about Mei! So Mei from seasons 1-4 is a masseuse and also a musician that played songs at the coffee house. But she got fired from her job as a masseuse because she was caught making out with one of the people she was massaging. (She also had a crush on that person for like a week.) She and Mk started a catering business together for a bit until Mk got a big opportunity as head chef and she didn't want to get in the way of that so she told him he should take the job. So she's just a musician/singer/songwriter. Mei is the...weird one of the friend group. (Eh who am I kidding? They're all freaks.) When she was 14 her mother committed suicide and her father abandoned her (She also has a twin sister but I have no idea what to name her.) Mk eventually met Mei helped her get back on her feet though. Mei later finds out that she has a half brother. Fun fact. Mei finds out her brother and his wife want to have children but they keep on having miscarriages so Mei offered to carry the embryos from her brother and his wife that were implanted into her uterus. (If you don't know what that is look it up.) Mei is around 26 when the show starts and is 36 when it ends. (Also if you've watched Friends before you would know about the song "Smelly cat" and you bet your ass that Mei is gonna sing it)
