ADONIS' EYES WERE like mirrors to his soul, constantly shifting hues of blues and yellows. But tonight, as my daring words left my lips, they turned a deep, dark shade. They were hungry and lascivious, igniting something within me. He looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered, the most precious thing in his world.

His strong arm tightened around my waist, and I watched as his eyes flickered with intense emotion. His other hand traveled slowly up to the back of my neck, his touch both gentle and possessive. My body was flooded with goosebumps, and the anticipation in the air was so thick I could almost taste it.

I was ready to bare his mark.

With a slow, deliberate movement, he brushed my wet hair aside, exposing my neck. His eyes locked onto mine, and I saw the shift in his gaze, the primal urge taking over. His strong hands held me steady, and I could feel his breath, hot and heavy against my skin.

His canines grazed against my neck before I could feel them puncture the sensitive skin. I could not contain the whimper that left my mouth as he began to mark me. I shut my eyes as An feeling, almost electric, took over my body—the pain and the pleasure leaving me completely breathless.

Both of his large hands were now tight on my waist and I shivered at the feeling of his teeth leaving my skin. He kisses my neck softly and my skin tickles at his soft physical affection. A unfamiliar wave of heat accumulated in my body but at the same time I could feel it almost bounce across the outside of my nude body. I gasped at the sight before me.

Thin golden, swirly lights, almost like the remnants of a witch's spell, shimmered around us, circling our bodies in the moonlit forest. The lights danced in intricate patterns, weaving through the air like ethereal fireflies. Each light left a trail of sparkling dust in its wake, creating a mesmerizing display that illuminated the dark forest with a mystical glow. They were so bright, like a supernova unleashed in the depths of the cosmos.

"Adonis," I breath out. "Look."

He pulls away from my neck and his now golden eyes were ablaze as they looked up at the atmosphere around us.

"I think it's you." I whispered. "The color--they match your eyes."

But Adonis' expression did not mirror my own, which was full of surprise and delight. His eyes held a hint of weariness as he watched the magic dancing around us. He seemed almost...worried.

"She predicted this." Adonis said, his eyes flickering around the golden hues of magic.

"Who?" I questioned him, growing tense in his arms.

He looked down at me, the earlier worry in his eyes replaced by a sense of calm. He kneaded the top of my head, gently massaging my scalp. He didn't answer my question, but we remained in this tranquil embrace, surrounded by the swirling golden hues, well into the night.
