The lake nearby ripples in peace as I take a look at my reflection.
The venture to Outpost One was a success, but I knew the red breeds were still a threat, and they were still out on a hunt.
The aching in my chest returned as I thought about Farah. She finally knows that we are fated mates and the aftermath was—let's just say I knew she wouldn't be speaking to me soon.

I found myself heading inside the outpost and into the designated training room. My fifty-nine warriors were engaged in drills and exercises, and I watched as Otis looked over at them observingly. He catches my eyes before giving me respectful nod.
"Warriors," I spoke instantly capturing all of their attention. "We will head back to the pack at dawn. We schedule a march to the second outpost a week prior from now. Keep training but at the crack of dawn we head back."
