Maddy's POV:
Halloween was going to be depressing. I was on crutches for two weeks until I could start putting pressure on my ankle again. I wasn't looking forward to tonight as the team had plans to go to the men's basketball teams house since they were throwing a party. It was also season, meaning we couldn't drink anymore. I had to put on a happy face for Carter since Halloween was her favorite and she had planned our costumes months in advance.
The team played on Friday and played great, but it was hard sitting on the sidelines. We played Nebraska-Kearney and blew them out 108-29. It was kind of a sad game, but it was still a great learning experience and fun seeing the girls put on their jerseys for the first time this season.
I heard a knock on the door as Carter ran to get it and it was Jada. She walked in with Hannah and told me to close my eyes, as they had a surprise for me. I closed my eyes and covered them with my hands before Jada yelled open them. I opened my eyes and dropped my hands to see her wheeling a wheel chair over. She was smiling ear to ear.
"Gee thanks Jada best surprise", I said sarcastically.
"Don't be rude it's so you don't have to stand all night", she explained.
"Thanks Jads I really appreciate it", I said.
Jada and Hannah quickly returned to their room to grab their makeup and costumes to get ready with Carter and I. Carter and I were being Mario and Luigi while Jada and Hannah were being a Devil and Angel, you can probably guess who was who.
We all got ready and we took some pictures before we left, then headed over to the basketball house. We arrived at a house just outside of campus, but only a 10 minute walk from our dorm. There was people everywhere, dressed for the occasion. Jada pushed me in the wheelchair through the crowd, people were cheering as I was pushed through the crowd. I'm not sure if it was because they knew who I was or because the girl in a wheelchair still made it to the party.
We made our way to the backyard where Gabbie and Caitlin were playing Monika and some guy in beer pong. We went over there as Caitlin took her shot, sinking the final cup.
"FOR THREE", Caitlin yelled, keeping her hand in the shooting position.
We watched as her and Gabbie celebrated. The finally turned around as saw us watching and came over to us.
"Aww my freshies are so cute", Gabbie said to us.
Caitlin, Gabbie and Mon were dressed as biker girls, they all pulled it off so good. They had the fake tattoos, bandanas on their heads and leather shorts and jeans, finished with a Harley Davidson shirt.
"How are you feeling Maddy? Love the wheelchair by the way", Caitlin asked.
"You can thank Jada for it. And I'm good, you know making the most out of this situation I guess", I responded.
I looked around at everyone costumes, trying to figure out where Caitlin's partner in crime was. I knew she was here, Caitlin, Gabbie and Monika wouldn't have left her or let her not show up to this. Finally out of the corner of my eye I saw my favorite blonde, she was also dressed like Caitlin and the others. She looked so incredibly hot with her hair straightened, and an orange bandanna on her head. She walked over to us and said hey.
She joked around about my wheelchair for a while before she took it from Jada and told me she had something to show me. It's not like I could have gotten up and opposed her wheeling me away but even if I could have, I wasn't going to. She wheeled me through the house before we stumbled on Patrick McCaffery, I knew him and Kate were friends but there was always rumors they were together. I knew they weren't true but part of me was so jealous.
