It's not really easy for a student to adjust in a new distant city all of a sudden but the most difficult part was convincing your Indian friend's parents to let y'all study together.

well, no jokes- it almost took our lives to persuade them.
Endless calls! Guilt trips! Manipulation without even knowing its called manipulation! Emotional blackmails! Out of the world promises! EVERYTHING!

Why are they so stubborn?

Luckily, one of my relatives lived in Amsterdam and, of course, the annoying bond between our friend group were the main reasons they agreed to let us stay here together.
But honestly?
Even if I didn't have those connections, I still would've whatever it took to be here! That's one thing I luv about myself:  never thinking it won't work out!
And why?
Because I'm crazily stubborn and stubbornly crazy!

A day full of winter magic in the month of December!

With a splash of perfume, Iris prepared herself for the exciting beginning of a brand new chapter at her brand new University in Amsterdam.

"I don't feel ready," Iris suddenly spoke to her friends in a low and nervous tone, looking at her reflection in the glass bottle.

All four heads turned towards her and then one of them, Alira, attempted to raise Iris's self - esteem by being dramatic as ever, "But why!?Aren't you the one who excels in almost everything you touch?"

Just after a moment, another one of them, Sienna chimed in, "It's our first day here too, okey? So don't stress too much. Look, Alira, Anasia, Ena, and I are all laid-back, so just.. calm down."

"But what if I can't make new friends in my class? And what if I make some mistake out of nervousness and people think I'm an awkward freak!?
Alira and Ena are introverts as well but they ended up in the same department so now they could just stick to each other but what about me huh?" Iris questioned Sienna.

Sienna rolled her eyes, still patient, "You are overthinking again. Just take it easy, alright? Everything will be fine, trust me you will find friends and make no mistake."

Iris opened her mouth again "but what if-"
Anasia quickly cut her off, frowning, "Oh shut up will you"
"Why are you being so negative all of a sudden?" Anasia snapped, and left the room.

The air turned awkward, everyone went quiet.... for only a while and then started complaining again..

"You guys are getting annoyed but I'm actually scared," Iris said throwing herself on the couch.

"I don't know why are u stressing so much. Do you even know how amazing you are? " finally a sensible girl, Ena spoke, trying her best to increase Iris's confidence.
"I know you're just saying that to make me stop overthinking," Iris muttered.

"No, I genuinely mean it," Ena said, more firmly this time.

"Girl, do u even realize how lovely and brilliant you are? Whenever I see you, I'm js- absolutely stunned!" Ena mentioned being a little silly and theatrical.

Others smiled at her stupid plan but nevertheless joined in, they began describing Iris very eloquently.

"Your hair is like a cascade of soft silk, I just can't resist running my fingers through it," Sienna stated.

"And your eyes! Girl your eyes are simply enchanting, and that's - that's unfair," Alira jumped in.

"Hey, don't overlook the lips, Iris, your lips are so plump and absolutely stunning," Ena gushed with admiration.

Iris couldn't help but smiled, they were being ridiculous but it was working.

"I feel better now, guys.. You all don't have to try so hard," she said giggling softly.

Just then, Anasia returned with a glass of Iris's favorite: a fizzy-organge flavored - vitamin drink and handed it to her. "Here, take it!"

"And try to embrace this new journey instead of freaking out and complaining. Otherwise, I might just splash this at your face next time," Anasia warned playfully, making a silly expression.

Everyone laughed at Anasia's antics and just like that the tension lifted but Iris still felt that quiet twist in her gut.
