One With the Sea

I am hidden deep in the oceans' depths, where no humans dare to go. I am not swimming.
I am not diving.
I am merely floating over the abyss.
I can see no one, nor can they see me. I am alone, but I am not afraid.
I can feel the presence of the sea creatures around me.
I can hear every swish of their tails.
They swim past me as if I am just another creature of the sea.
I am one with the sea.
I feel content.
A prickling in my spine alerts me to a new presence.
The fish surrounding me flee.
I am now afraid.
A sharp fin passes just under me.
I try my best not to scream.
I close my eyes, fearing what they might see.
Suddenly, I am surrounded by a calm presence.
I open my eyes and see friendly eyes looking back at me.
I smile.
These are my friends.
The dolphins' noses send me upwards.
I am rising.
I hear them talking with one another.
I gasp as I reach the surface.
I wave goodbye as my dolphin friends swim off.
I sigh happily as I bob up and down in the oceans waves.
I am one with sea.
And the sea is one with me.
