Hurt Feelings

Chapter 6

Maya's POV:

It's been two weeks since I last saw Josh, and he kissed me. I still couldn't believe Josh was my first kiss but I also couldn't believe he would kiss me and then just leave the next day, before I could keep thinking I snap back to reality.

"EARTHHHH TO MAYAAAA!!" Riley yelled.

I shake my head and then look up at Riley. "Peaches!"

Riley rolled her eyes at me and then threw a pillow at me.

"Did you even listen to anything I said?"
"What was I suppose to?" I chucked
"Yeah, you were! Why'd you tell Lucas I liked him?" She looked mad but then again, I wasn't the one who told Lucas about her feelings for him, Josh did.

I got closer to Riley and faked smiled and placed my hand on her cheek.

"I'm sorry, that your Uncle Josh told Lucas that you have a huge crush on him." as soon as I said it I smiled to myself.

Riley removed my hand from her cheek and got up away from the window seat and sat down on her bed looking more angry and than she did before.

"Even better! I got embarrassed by my own Uncle!" She hissed.
"Hey! At least I wasn't the one who told him!" I explained.
"Why does that matter anymore? He still knows! You and Uncle Josh need to fix this mess you made!" She demanded.
"Yeah, let me just go call Josh to drive all the way from PHILADELPHIA just so he can tell Lucas that you don't like him." I said sarcastically.

"Fine, I'll admit it sounded better in my head, but it doesn't hurt to try?" She faked smiled hoping I would help her solve her issues with Ranger Rick.

"Alright, but I don't even have his numb-" before I could finish my sentence Riley took my phone and added Josh's number on my phone.
"Problem solved!" She had a huge smile and I rolled my eyes and decided to call Josh.

I patiently waited as I called and it kept ringing. I felt butterflies in my stomach, regretting calling him but before I was going to hang up he picked up the phone.

"Hello?" Josh said.

"U-uh h-hi" I started stuttering like crazy, it felt so weird talking to him after two weeks. But then I realized I could control myself, I just had to think of him as a very big ugly gorilla and I won't be nervous anymore.

"Maya?" He replied. When I heard him say my name I just wanted to jump up and down like a little girl, but then I thought BIG UGLY GORILLA, YOU DON'T LIKE BIG UGLY GORILLAS, MAYA.

"Yeah, it's me Josh, anyway I need you to come back here." I said being as cool as possible.

"What's the big emergency that you want me there?" He said sounding a bit worried.

"I need you big ugly gorilla because your niece is going insane because you told her crush, she had a crush on him." I said without thinking, did I really just call him big ugly gorilla??

"Big ugly gorilla?" He questioned.

"Can you just come or?" I asked not answering him.

"Alright, I guess I could visit for a couple days." He said.

"Alright, thanks bye." I hung up on him as fast I could and smiled to myself.

"Sooo....?" Riley looked at me. "What did he say?? Is he coming or not?" She asked.
"Yeah, he's going to fix the little mess he made, you're welcome." I laid down on her bed and closed my eyes thinking about scenarios of Josh and me.

"MAYAAAA! STOP GOING TO LALA LAND." She screamed in my ear.
"Gosh, calm down. I was just thinking." I said.
"Thinking about what?" She asked. Of course she would ask me that, I always tell everything to Riley, but I haven't told her about my kiss with Josh because then she wouldn't given me his number and made me call him to come over.

"Don't tell me you were thinking about a way to get into my Uncle Josh's pants." She said annoyed.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help it!" I giggled.
"You know he's too old for you right?" She halted smiled, you could see it in her eyes that she felt bad for me because she didn't see any possible way that Josh would like me back.
"Yeah, but I'm in it for the long game." I smiled getting up and getting out through the window.

Riley looked at me and quickly tried to stop me. "I-I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." She said.

"Don't worry pumpkin, I'm just tired and I want to go home." I assured her and left.

Josh's POV:

It's been a day since Maya called me to go back to New York City, and I decided to pack and headed out this morning to my brother's home. I even forgot to ask him if I could stay over. But I knew he wouldn't mind after all, I am his brother.

I knocked on Cory's door and just to see Maya open the door with out even asking who it was.

"Do you just open doors to strangers like this?" I smirked.
"Pfttt, I knew it was you." She rolled her eyes at me.
"So how's my wife doing?" I asked randomly with a flirtatious look.
"W-what?" She asked, I could tell she got nervous every time she was around me I found it extremely adorable.
"It's a joke." I said sarcastically.
"Right" She said with a disappointed look but then she smiled at me and then out of no where she jumped on my back.

"Get off of me you little ferret!" I yelled trying to get her off of me.
"No, I refuse to." She said holding on tight.

I finally decided to give up and stopped resisting her and once I stopped moving her around she kissed my cheek and I couldn't help but smile. "What was that for?" I asked.

She got off my back and faced me. "I like you." She said openly and she got closer to my lips and I couldn't help but stare at down at her lips. "It's a joke." She whispered looking down at my lips and then she bit her lip and moved away.

I was disappointed for a second that she didn't kiss me, and said it was a joke, did it mean she doesn't like me? but I wasn't going to let her get away with this.

"I like you too." I said and I wasn't lying and as I got closer to Maya she got more nervous and started to back away causing her to fall down to the couch.

I bend down and leaned in to kiss Maya but then stopped and whispered "Just kidding."

Maya's POV

I fell down to the couch once Josh got closer to me, I couldn't help but get nervous. He bent down and leaned in he suddenly stopped and whispered "Just kidding." Which broke my heart into a million pieces, but I didn't care, his lips were still inches apart from mine so I took advantage of that and I just pressed my lips against his, without hesitation Josh, kissed me back. I wrapped my arms around his neck while he held onto my waist.

Suddenly the kiss was over as soon as Riley walks in with a disappointed look.
"Nope, I don't approve." She pushed Josh away from me and I rolled my eyes.
"Calm down we were just having a bit fun, nothing serious." I said trying to calm her down.
"What will Mom and Dad say when I tell them?" Riley smiles deviously at Josh.
"We weren't doing anything, it didn't even mean anything, right Maya?" Josh looked at me waiting for me to back him up.
"Right." I replied.

Riley didn't look convinced and held my hand.
"How do I know it didn't mean anything and that you and my best friend are just simply lying to me?" She said wanting the truth.
"I have a girlfriend, I wouldn't try to mess with Maya, you know I'm better than that." He said.

Great, now I felt like complete shit. Of course he got a girlfriend. He's freaking Uncle Boing. I kissed him, without his permission he probably only kissed me back out of pity.
