42 - Truth

Salem's Domain, Watt's Office.

"What do you think is Salem's goal after she gets all the Relics?" Mercury said while Watts was performing a medical check-up on him.

"I can't say for sure, but I can say that we must follow whatever she wishes. Give me your arm." Watts then covered his remaining bruises with bandages.

"I thought you were only a scientist?"

"Please, I'm a lot smarter than you think. I have 11 PhDs." Soon after he finished his statement, he tightened the bandage.

"Ow! Was that on purpose?"

"You keep yapping. It's annoying."

"Whatever." Mercury rolled his eyes as he got out of the office.

When Watts was finally alone, he opened one of the cases he brought when he was from Vale for a few weeks. He opened the case, revealing it was Sasuke's bloody sword.

"This sword, I've never seen ANYTHING like it before.. Even though Cinder is dead, her tiny traces of Aura are still left within this sword.. Fascinating."

Watts then proceeded to wear his gloves and placed the sword on the scanner.

He was typing on the keyboard then after that, the scanner was ready for scanning.

"Hmmm.. Another energy is within the sword besides Cinder's aura. Torchwick's aura is also in there and more than 20 different aura are within the sword. The other one is not even aura.. The scanner detected dust within the sword. Not surprised about the dust part, it's pretty typical for weapons nowadays to be embedded with dust."

Watts held his chin with his fingers as he was observing the sword. He grinned, Watts may be able to find the new Fall Maiden with this.

"These are exciting findings. My theory is that the sword will get small portions of Aura from the people it sliced. Why? A possible theory is that the aura it gets from the victims sharpens the blade and increases its durability.. The question of 'How' is still a mystery.."

Mistral, Train

The train pushed forward through the cold storm, the sound of its wheels clicking rhythmically on the tracks. Snowflakes swirled outside, pelting the windows and creating a mesmerizing, relentless pattern of white against the glass.

"Sasuke."

Sasuke, in the midst of stowing his bag in one of the overhead compartments, turned at the sound of Weiss's voice. She stood in the narrow aisle, her expression firm and determined. Something was clearly on her mind.

Sasuke tilted his head slightly, giving her a curious look. "What is it?"

"Come with me," Weiss replied, her tone leaving no room for argument.

"Where to?"

"You'll see."

Sasuke followed Weiss through the narrow corridors of the train, passing through several cars, each filled with passengers who were either sleeping or lost in their own quiet activities. The constant, rhythmic clatter of the train on the tracks provided a comforting background hum. They finally reached the last car, where Weiss opened the door, leading them out onto the small, exposed platform at the train's rear. The cold night air hit them immediately, their breath visible in the frosty chill. Weiss leaned on the railing, her gaze fixed on the stormy landscape rushing by.

Sasuke joined her, gripping the cold metal of the railing. "You wanted to talk?"

"Hm... Yeah. And while we're at it, seriously, how many Semblances do you have?" Weiss asked, her voice a mix of frustration and genuine curiosity.
