chapter 11

Cold brewing

Ray walked down a hallway placing a smudge of paint on a part of the wall every few 50 feet. "We've been at this for hours! There's nothing out here Ray!" Chichi yelled, Ray stopped walking, his gaze fixed onto the ground.

"We're gonna get caught if we don't head back now." Chichi crossed his arms looking into the darkness, shuddering with fear. Ray didn't answer, Chichi waited for an answer realizing he wasn't gonna get anything. "What are you looking at?" Chichi asked walking towards what Ray was looking at,

Ray stopped Chichi from walking any closer, he crouched down his paw grazing the ground. Chichi looked down trying to understand what his leader was doing, "Ray?" Chichi called out, Ray stood back up. "Blood." Ray said, "Chichi was confused, "Yeah? We see it a lot?" Chichi looked at Ray.

Ray sighed, "No it's not any blood, it's fresh and it smells. Can't you smell It too?" Ray looked at Chichi. He could see the confusion in the chicken's look. "What are you talking about?" He asked, Ray shook his head. "It's Novas." Ray finally said, "It means he's close by." Ray looked away from Chichi, getting distracted again.

"Are- What are you saying then? Go get the traitor or something." Chichi crossed his arms as he spoke, "I'm saying... He stayed close by to the dome. And if we do find him, maybe we can question him!" Ray looked back at Chichi, his eyes glowing. "Did you forget he had hurt you? And he's that big monster thing anyway. Also! He doesn't speak for god's sake!"

Chichi placed a hand on his face, clearly irritated. Ray looked back at the ground, thinking to himself. Ray didn't understand why he wanted to find Nova so bad! No he shouldn't!

But he wants too, so badly. "Let's just get back, there's nothing out here." Chichi huffed, beginning to walk away.

Ray looked up into the darkness, a glimpse of purple popping into his vision. His mind playing tricks again, he knew that... Ray shook his head trying to get rid of that purple. 'It's not real...' Ray thought to himself, Ray noticed something at the corner of his vision. Red, it was the smoke. Though it was near a door, not permitting into the room. Ray stared blankly at the smoke, almost debating on investigating the room

Ray shook his head growling in displeasure at the idea skimming his brain. Ray glanced down to the dried bloody tiles, then he noticed. Fur, purple fur drenched in blood. Ray crouches down and takes a closer look at the floor, he then notices more fresh blood. "Huh..." His eyes inched following the blood spots realizing it was a trail, soon his eyes stopped at that room again. Still surrounded in red smoke.

Ray stared blankly into that void of red, that urge to go find that cat was pulling him to that room. Nova betrayed his friends, no nova betrayed HIM.

"Ray?! Are you coming or not!?" Chichi yelled springing Ray out of his trance. "Yeah yeah! I'm coming!" Ray turned and yelled, Ray eyes trace back to the room before he shook his head and ran to where Chichi was.

A long purple tail wisps out of the red smoke pushing the smoke around, A faint glow of a pair of eyes were in the smoke watching the dog leave.

Ray closes the dome's door, his eyes staring at the closed door, "Ray get over it." Chichi said crossing his arms, Ray was silent, "He's a traitor and you know it. He hurt us Ray."

Ray seemed to not be paying any attention to what Chichi had said... Chichi sighed looking away from the dog, "You can't keep that hope Ray, he's a lost cause."
