Kendall was sprawled out on her hotel bed, her TV playing some other soccer games happening leading up to the NCAA tournament. The girls had just defeated Michigan State, and now will travel to Ohio for the rest of their games in the Big Ten Tournament. Shall they make it that far. Kendall was exhausted, she played the full 90 and her legs were killing her. But she had a manger to still score under great amounts of fatigue.

She heard two knocks on the door, and she got up to open it. Charlotte was stood behind the door, with two iced lattes and her sweet smile.

"Surprise! I went for a walk because I needed to just take a moment to clear my head," smiled Charlotte, walking in after Kendall opened the door wider for her. "I got you a coffee, I know you've been resting all day."

"Thank you, Char," smiled Kendall, sitting on her bed. Charlotte followed. "You're the best. I swear I love coach, but he needs to realize we need to save our legs."

Charlotte and Kendall were an amazing duo in the middle of the field. The two midfielders were best friends off the field, and also the best dynamic duo Iowa has seen in years. The two were recognized all over media as such as well, even earning attention from members of the United States National Team. But high expectations and pushing pain came with it all. The two played the same minutes and they were exhausted.

"Literally. I talked to one of the trainers and he even said the same thing," sighed Charlotte, putting her coffee down and laying next to Kendall who had went on her back. "Anyways, enough soccer talk. We just need to rest."

Kendall sighed, looking up at the ceiling and the buzz of the commentators on her TV filling the air of the hotel room.

"How are you and your boy?" asked Kendall, checking up on Charlotte and her boyfriend. She always asked her, as the two always debriefed everyday.

"Good, smooth so far. They started their trainings for baseball," said Charlotte. "How are you progressing?"

Charlotte always checked up on Kendall's progression of moving on from Halley. The breakup wasn't too bad, but she knew how much Kendall cared for her. A lot of it was because you will never forget the romantic relations you had when you are in your twenties. That was the curse of being 20 and in a relationship. These were your monumental ages, and where you wouldn't forget anything.

"Perfectly fine, oddly enough," chuckled Kendall. "She gives me the ick now oddly enough. When I see her content pop up on my explore page, it's an immediate exit from the app."

"That's good, Ken!" smiled Charlotte.

"I know, and this agreement with Caitlin is slowly drawing her away. She still texts me, but the calls have become fewer," said Kendall with a smile.

"How is the whole thing with Caitlin?"

"Char, can I be completely honest with you? And you 100% can judge me."

Charlotte chuckled, "You can always be honest with me. I expect you to anyway. And you know I won't judge you. Unless you say you're going to move to another country and change your name."

Kendall laughed, still looking up at the ceiling.

"Of course not," said Kendall, before taking a small breath. "It all feels real. Like too real."

"The agreement?"

"Like it's so natural. I always fall and lean into it like it is real, then I remind myself of the day we both sat down and wrote our rules," sighed Kendall, now closing her eyes awaiting her best friends response.
