Midnight was soon. 2024 was soon. And the athlete social had not died down yet. At all. If anything, people had begun to get more energized, the idea of a New Year was upon them.

Kendall spent the rest of the evening with her soccer teammates, relishing in their presence as it was probably some of their last moments together. Kendall knew how a sport could bring so many people into her life, no matter if she was playing it or managing it. She knew damn well about the second part.

Meanwhile, Caitlin had engaged in conversation with her own teammates. This time around, no Connor McCaffrey was there to follow her or stop her at any point. If anything, he was busy trying to talk to another girl who is on the Track and Field squad.

"Cait? Cait!" waved Gabbie, who had been trying to get her attention for the past minute and a half. Gabbie turned to the direction where Caitlin was looking of too. "Where are you staring?"

"Sorry, sorry," sighed Caitlin, taking a sip out of the water bottle she had. She smoothed down her leather jacket she paired with a white tube top under and blue jeans.

"You missed it, we were people watching and playing smash or pass on a bunch of people here," laughed Gabbie, making Kate chuckle a bit.

"Gabbie, I think you're forgetting that you're talking to two lesbians," said Kate, making Caitlin laugh.

"Okay, but you can still appreciate your view," said Sydney, laughing along with Gabbie.

"Don't you guys have boyfriends?" asked Caitlin, making Kate snort.

"Okay, let me rephrase," started Gabbie. "We were playing smash or pass based on their outfits."

"We even did it with some of the outfits from the soccer girls," said Sydney. "I swear they always know how to dress so well. I can only imagine what they're going to wear for Herky season. Especially your sister, Kate."

Caitlin perked up at the mention of Kate's sister. She fully agreed with Sydney's statement. Kendall really did know how to dress, but her beauty was all that Caitlin thought about. Even when her hair was messily thrown up in a bun and wearing sweatpants, Kendall still looked amazing. She fully believed Kendall could wear a trash bag and still stun.

"Yeah, she does have great style doesn't she?" said Caitlin softly, still admiring the girl as she was in deep conversation with Charlotte and Victoria. She couldn't turn her eyes off of Kendall, the way her dirty blonde hair looked so fluffy cascading down her back. How she occasionally got a view of her blue eyes sparkling from the moonlight. It was all too much, and she knew she needed to get to talk to her soon.

"Mmm, just don't say it to her face alright, guys?" said Kate with fake disgust. "She might drop everything and start buying a new wardrobe because you guys expect more from her."

"And what if we want more from her? Her style is great, Kate," said Gabbie. "Too bad style doesn't run in the family..."

"Hey!" yelled Kate, the girls bursting into a fit of laughter around her.

About twenty yards away, Kendall felt eyes on her and she only knew who they were from. The stare she felt burned her skin, and it made her feeling something. She couldn't place it, but it was longing. There were times where she wanted to turn her head, but the idea of meeting a Caitlin's eyes scared her. She feared she would get so lost in them, that she would probably just kiss her. She wanted to kiss her.
