Matters~
My eyes dart back and forth as we head down a dimly lit hall. There were a few halls and doors that branched off, but nothing useful showed itself before we made it to two tall double doors that were made out of what looked to be oak wood. Vines of metal trailed over the grains, twisting and tangling as they went.
I knew right away it was a throne room, demons I guess had a thing for big extravagant doors. Maybe it was a tempt at intimidating people who were entering?
It worked a little on me, panic had bubbled up in my gut and was slowly clawing its way up into my chest.
I take a deep breath and remind myself that I wasn't the weak human I once was. I wasn't the same person that had once been killed in a throne room.
Any confidence I had gathered was quickly knocked out of me when my eyes landed on the demon that sat on a throne of gold and black vines. The vines that made the arm and backrest were thick and bulky, but the demon lord seemed rather comfortable where he sat.
"Asmodeus, what the hell?" Jay asked as he came to stand next to me.
"Nephew, it's been a while." The demon's pale pink lips pulled into a smile, one that made the skin around his dark purple eyes crinkle a bit. "I didn't mean for you to be dragged here the way you were, but your father wanted an update on how you were doing."
My eyes narrow a bit as I realize I had been drug into a family reunion.
"Why would my father not seek me out himself?" Jay asked as he rolled his shoulders back and brought his chin up.
"I have matters with your new friend here and he asked if I would just squeeze a well check with you, and he is still sour over what you did the last time he made you visit home." Asmodeus laughed under his breath and shook his head.
I cut my eyes over to Jay before focusing back on the demon in front of us. "What matters do you have with me?" Why did random demons always have matters with me?
"We'll discuss that in a few minutes, right now you can step out while I talk with my nephew."
"No, she stays with me." Jay snapped as the demons holding me started to pull me back towards the hallway.
"Nothing will happen to her," Asmodeus told Jay calmly.
"I know nothing will or you will regret it, but she still stays with me. Yeonjun the fallen angel would have our heads if he knew I let you separate us."
"I know who her soulmate is and I am not worried about him." The demon lord waved his hand at the lesser demon holding me.
I hiss as it jerks me around to face the doors, my back was still taking its time with healing. Asmodeus' domain must be how Andromalius' was, where no one but he could use his powers.
I clench my teeth as the demon pulls me to a stop a few feet away from the doors. My foot starts to tap against the dark gray floor as the doors shut with an echoing 'thud'.
I try and reach around in my head once more for Rerek, but there was still nothing. "What the fuck are you doing?" I ask out loud making the demons around me snap their heads my way. "I'm talking to the voice in my head, touch your noses," I tell them shortly.
They exchange looks before turning back to stare blankly at the throne room's doors.

Soobin shoves his phone back into his pocket and meets Yeonjun's hard gaze. "I know you already heard the call.""How is it we have powerful bosses, yet they can never help when it's needed?" Yeonjun snapped as he ran a hand through his hair.
"They did help a little, they know where she is and who she is with," Soobin replied defending their bosses.
