Chapter 69

Taehyung once again walked towards the other basement like a ruthless executioner. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Aena lying there. Her eyes were swollen and red from crying and she was still wearing her wedding dress. Although she had suffered, it wasn't as severe as what Kai had gone through. She was still in a better state than Kai but that was only because she was a woman.

As soon as Aena saw Taehyung, she started crying. "Taehyung-"

Before she could say anything more, Taehyung slapped her hard, silencing her immediately. He grabbed a chair and sat down in front of her, lighting a cigarette. He blew the smoke directly into Aena's face, making her cough uncontrollably.

After a few moments, Taehyung tossed the cigarette aside and looked at Aena with a dangerous glint in his eyes, indicating he was very serious now.

"Aena, I want to know everything from the beginning," he said in a cold voice. "Not a single word out of place, and you must not leave out even one person who tried to separate me and my Bun."

Aena realized she had no other option but to tell the whole truth, so she nodded and began to recount everything to Taehyung. Taehyung only nodded in response, he had already heard most of the truth from Kai's own mouth.

He moved closer to Aena, speaking in a dangerously low tone, "Even after everything, you still thought of marrying me?"

Aena shook her head and started crying again. "Taehyung, I... I was the one who informed you about Jungkook on o-our.... wedding, please let me go."

Taehyung stood up from his chair with such force that it fell back.

"Let you go?"

he shouted, his voice so loud and menacing that Aena trembled with fear.

He began pacing back and forth in the room, struggling to decide what punishment to give this girl. Meanwhile, Aena gathered some courage and asked,

"Taehyung, w-what happened to K-kai?"

Taehyung smirked and clapped his hands, summoning a guard who entered the room and bowed to Taehyung.

"Tell her in detail what happened to Kai," Taehyung ordered.

The guard obeyed and began explaining everything to Aena. As she listened to the horrors inflicted on Kai, Aena burst into tears. No matter how bad kai was, he was still her brother.

When the guard finished explaining, Aena looked at Taehyung in terror. She couldn't believe the severity of the punishment he had given Kai. Now, she was terrified, wondering what he would do to her. The thought of it made her shiver uncontrollably.

Today, once again, Taehyung ordered the entire city to gather in front of the palace. Within just 15 minutes, the city streets were deserted again , and everyone had assembled outside the palace, anxiously waiting to see whom Taehyung would punish today and what kind of punishment would be given.

Taehyung was about to drag Aena outside the place when he heard a voice from behind.

"Taehyung."

He stopped in his tracks. It was the Queen, his mother, who had called out to him. Taehyung was momentarily stunned. How was it possible? His mother had gotten up and come out by herself? For a brief moment, Taehyung felt a flicker of happiness. But that joy was short-lived, quickly fading as he remembered the deceptions and schemes his mother had orchestrated.

Turning around, Taehyung saw his mother standing there, looking incredibly fragile. It seemed as if she had just awakened from a deep coma. Her frailty was palpable, she appeared to be a shadow of her former self.
