Chapter 81

"Everyone, check the time!" Taehyung commanded, and it was only then that the employees realized their break had not only ended but that an hour had passed since. Panic set in as they feared for their jobs none of them could afford to lose this position. Heads hung low in worry.

Seeing their nervous expressions, Taehyung yelled, "Dismiss!" Immediately, the employees scrambled out of the room, desperate to get back to work. However, Jungkook and Kai remained rooted in place. Taehyung noticed Kai standing there and, with a more forceful tone, repeated, "DISMISS!"

Realizing the message was specifically directed at him, Kai quickly understood and hurried out. Despite wanting to stay by Jungkook's side, fear of Taehyung overpowered him, and he didn't dare linger any longer.

Taehyung then moved closer to Jungkook, their faces inches apart, his eyes intense as he ordered, "In my office."

Jungkook, now nervous, followed behind Taehyung slowly, his steps hesitant.

As soon as they entered the office, Taehyung slammed the door shut with force and immediately started shouting at Jungkook. "What was that?!"

The aggressive tone took Jungkook by surprise, and fear settled in. "N-nothing, I was just celebrating," Jungkook stammered, trying to explain himself.

But Taehyung was too angry to listen, his frustration boiling over. He wasn't thinking clearly, letting his emotions dictate his words. "If anyone else had done that, I wouldn't hesitate for a second before firing them! Just because you're Mr. Jeon's son doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Don't take advantage of your father's reputation!".

He was only upset because Jungkook was dancing with the employees. But he himself didn't know this and let out whatever came to his mind without thinking twice.

Those words hit Jungkook like a punch to the chest. He stood there, silent, his head lowering as the sting of Taehyung's words sank in deeply.

"I'm talking to you, Jungkook!" Taehyung shouted, still fuming.

"I... I understand..." Jungkook mumbled, but as he spoke, his voice broke, and tears began to well up in his eyes. He couldn't hold back his emotions any longer. He started to cry, overwhelmed by the situation.

Taehyung's anger began to dissipate as soon as he saw the tears rolling down Jungkook's face. He hadn't expected this reaction. The sight of Jungkook crying stirred something inside him, and guilt slowly crept in.

For a moment, there was nothing but silence between them. Jungkook wiped his tears quickly, trying to compose himself but failing to hide the pain on his face. Taehyung's heart twisted at the sight, and he cursed himself internally for letting his emotions get the best of him.

Taehyung took a deep breath, trying to calm down. His voice was much softer now as he spoke, "Jungkook... I didn't mean to-" He stopped himself, unsure of how to continue. Apologies were not something he was good at.

Taehyung moved closer to Jungkook, reaching out. "Jungkook-"

But before he could say anything more, Jungkook, with tears streaming down his face, yelled, "You're so bad! I'll never speak to you again! Never in my life!" His voice was filled with pain as he turned and ran out of the office.

Taehyung was left standing there, frozen as Jungkook's words echoed in his mind. Something deep inside him stirred, a mix of regret and frustration. Anger flared up, not at Jungkook but at himself. Furious with how things had escalated, he punched the wall hard, over and over, trying to release the overwhelming emotions he couldn't control.

Meanwhile, Jungkook rushed downstairs, where Kai had been waiting for him. The moment he saw Kai, Jungkook broke down, throwing himself into Kai's arms. He hugged him tightly, sobbing uncontrollably.
