"LOOOOGAAANNNNN!"
My bed shakes as someone violently jumps on it, drawing me out of the dreary sleep I had fallen into while staring at my wall in a state of shock.
"Chris!" Matt's familiar voice hisses. "I told you to wait in the living room!"
"And I told you to fuck yourself," Chris responds, his voice lined with sarcasm.
Someone's hand grabs my leg to shake me awake, and I groan in response, tugging my blanket over my head. "Go away."
"Nah." Chris rips the blanket away from me, and I groan again as I open my eyes, flooding my vision with light.
Chris is sitting on my bed beside me with a goofy grin on his face and Matt is standing nearby, his arms crossed as he peers at me in concern.
"Why did you bring the energizer bunny with you?" I grumble, directing my question to Matt.
Chris gasps dramatically in response, but Matt's frown of worry deepens. "Logan..."
"Nope, we're not talking about emotions right now!" Chris announces as he hops to his feet. "We're going to do something fun because Logan obviously needs it!"
"I'm not going anywhere. I need to be with my siblings right now." I haul myself up into an upright position, swatting Chris' hand away when he extends it to help me up.
"Your siblings are all out," Chris responds with a wide grin. "Cam and Kaya are at work and Mason and Vi are both at sports practices. So you have no choice but to come out with us."
I sigh and, just for a minute, I bury the sour attitude that is filling me. "Chris, I appreciate the thought and I love that you want to help make me feel better, but I really don't want to go out right now."
"That sucks for you then, doesn't it?" Chris beams at me as hops up off my bed "Because we made plans!"
"Can I please talk to Matt for a moment?" I force a smile, and thankfully, it seems to work, because Chris nods and skips out of my room like it's Christmas morning.
When the door is shut behind him, I turn my attention to Matt, whose expression has not changed. "Please don't make me go out."
"I think it would be a good idea to get some fresh air." Matt sits down beside me and grabs my hand to thread his fingers through mine. "What Jade did was shitty, but it's not the end of the world. Honestly, nobody really even seems to care that you withheld information from them. They're all mad at Jade for outing you, and everyone thinks you're incredible for raising your siblings all on your own."
