"You have a lot of explaining to do sister," Charlotte teases as she plays with the end of her braid.

Jessie nods and throws her hair behind her neck, "A lot is an understatement. Have you gone crazy?"

I sigh and shake my head.

I knew explaining everything to them would be torturous, but I didn't expect it to be as nerve racking as it is. Why are my hands shaking so much just to explain something so simple as walking around with Jessie and Charlotte? It doesn't make sense.

We're each sitting on the couch in a dress with various shades of pink. They're each sitting on the other side across from me, each staring at me with curiosity written in their eyes.

It's not like anything even happened. We had lunch, went on a walk, and cried. It's honestly not that unusual.

But I'm not telling them about what we talked about there. I'd rather keep that to ourselves for now, especially because I'd rather figure out a little more about our situation before involving them.

Especially because I already know no one would agree with me.

I sigh again, "It really was nothing. We just went around to each classroom to check in with everyone."

They both exchange wary glances at each other.

Jessie giggles a little, "Yeah, we know that. But you two were holding hands, and looking pleasant around each other."

Charlotte nods and laughs in Jessie's direction, "And in history, he made Roger curtsey to her."

I smile.

That was an amazing experience. Seeing that old man bend in front of me as a member of the Gentry, who's tried to get me hung before was just....

It's not the worst thing in the world to have some power.

It certainly doesn't feel that way.

I shake my head, "Nothing happened," I pause, "How have you two been doing with courses and stuff?"

Jessie bats her eyelashes, "Don't you grade our papers?" She pauses, "But they're exactly the same as last time, so I'm a little bored."

"No, I make Arthur grade your papers. I don't wanna seem biased."

Which is why Caroline yelled at me.

Charlotte nods and smiles, "I agree, it's better for us to earn our scores. I don't really like the courses, but I've made some progress getting close to both Charlene and Annalise. I might be able to convince them to come here soon."

That's really good news. The more people we have in our movement the better.

Jessie and I both nod.

Charlotte's eyebrows raise, "When you and Necolineis were at the library, did you find anything else we can add to the country?"

I pause.

I mean, I found out about infrastructure and stuff, but Arthur said we might have to think about that a little more seriously because of the riches that'll go into it.

I also found out about transportation, maybe I can mention that.

I cross my legs, "I learned about transportation. Basically it would be a system to make it easier to get around here without walking or using horses."

Jessie pauses, "So like a train?"

I shrug, "I guess? Whichever one would probably be the most beneficial and easy to put in."
