My hands shake uncontrollably atop the desk in the main office as sweat beams from my brow.

The Headmistress is supposed to come today to give us our final grade for this entire thing. It's strange how this has come to an end so quickly, but that's not the point.

Obviously, she said we were doing a good job before, but that doesn't mean she thinks that now. And that's why I'm shaking because I don't wanna look like a fool today.

Arty looks at me and smiles, "You are overthinking the entire thing darling. Trust me, we are going to be alright."

That's easy for him to say. He's good at all of this stuff.

When I don't reply, his hand falls on top of mine on the table. He rubs it with his thumb. His heated fingers warm up my entire arm.

I smile a little and look down.

"That is much better. We are going to be alright. Remember, we are a great team."

I laugh.

We are.

I don't know why I'm so worried. We didn't have many complaints, and we got everything done in a timely manner.

I look up and my smile widens, "Fine, I guess you're right."

He nods and laughs, "Perfect, now stop biting your poor lip," he brings up a finger and gently flicks my lip.

I shiver and shake my head.

He didn't have to go that far.

When I look into his eyes again, they're filled with that same gleam that was present when I was on his lap. That sounds so dirty, but it's true.

I can't have him sitting here staring at me like that. Especially when I don't know what to do about it.

I need to change the subject.

"So, you were being very compassionate towards Ninny the other day," perfect this is a neutral conversation, "Why? I thought you two were huge rivals."

He sighs and looks down, "We are, however, I am well aware how unrequited love feels, and I truly sympathize with him."

Unrequited love.

And he always has to find a way to bring it back around to us. Even when I pick something that has nothing to do with us, he does.

I hate him for that.

I huff and look down, "Seriously?"

He shrugs, "Pardon? What did I do wrong?"

I raise an eyebrow, "Unrequited love?"

He simply nods, "Yes. Am I missing something?"

Well.

Not really.

I sigh.

I have no idea what he's talking about. He's been so cryptic lately, especially when I was seducing him. He didn't actually give me a clear answer about anything.

You know how I feel, and what the outcome would be.

Three words.

I will tell you soon.

I shake my head, "Well no but-" I pause and sigh, "Why are you being so cryptic?"

He clenches his eyebrows and tilts his head, "Pardon me?"

There's no way he doesn't know what he's doing.

I laugh, "Don't act innocent. You've been so vague about everything these past few weeks. You're confusing me."
