Before the dark times of modern-day gaming, we had some of the greatest video games created. And I shall show you one such videogame... Dying Light, and the incredible DLC that followed... the Following DLC...
So let's get straight to it!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Premise:
Dying Light is a game created by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Dying Light is set in one singular fictional city called Harran, with its DLC taking place in the countryside of said city. The game was praised for its surprisingly good combat system against the zombies, and its very entertaining parkour system that could rival the Assassin's Creed games. The game explains the zombie virus as a case of rabies, bringing the dead back to life, which makes it a very interesting virus compared to the Walking Dead virus and the Zombie virus from The Last Of Us... I forgot the name of both of them.
We play as Kyle Crane, a mercenary hired by the GRE to hunt down Kadir Suleman, who has changed his name to Rais and leads one of the two main factions, the other being The Tower, which is the group that Kyle has sided with. As we play the game, we easily become aware of Rais's sadistic tendencies, messed-up psychology, and desire to rule over everything as a true man. Kyle Crane throughout the story is tested by Rais and the situation he finds himself in, losing his new friends, being forced into situations he wasn't expecting, and being a total badass. The scene where he cuts off Rais's hand is so badass! Here is a quick look...
Kyle later explores the second half of the game within the Old Town of Harran, which is basically the main city for Harran compared to the first half where it takes place in the Slums. In this section, the game gets harder, and the story gets even better, with Kyle getting closer to killing Rais off fully, and instead of obeying the GRE, he chooses to stay in Harran and help the people of the city.
The DLC: The Following takes the base game and moves it out into the open Countryside, where we follow a Cult called The Following or The Children of the Sun led by the Mother who can be the final boss for the DLC If the player chooses a certain option. Kyle is only here to find a cure to save the people of the Tower, and even that will be tested as we hear the Tower slowly fall apart with the infection in the city getting worse and worse.

Gameplay:
Dying Light, as I mentioned, has some of the best parkour in video game history. It can be kind of dumb sometimes but once you get the grappling hook, it becomes a lot more fun.
The game offers three skill trees, a fourth one in the DLC, and a Legend Skill Tree. The first three are Survivor which are given just by playing the game and doing quests or optional content, Agility which is gained by doing anything related to parkour, and Power which is just attacking and killing your enemies. The fourth skill tree is the driving skill tree where you can upgrade your vehicle and gain new higher-tier parts or add-ons to make it stronger. The Legend Skill Tree is only unlocked after completely unlocking all of the skills in one of the four skill trees.
The game allows the player to have access to several custom melee weapons ranging from planks, pipes, machetes, sickles, batons, and more, while also allowing the player to use guns, bows, and crossbows which allows the game to be more fun, especially against enemies who will use ranged weapons.
