Can I be honest with you? I was not expecting myself to love this game and it's story as much as I did, the writers, the director, and the different levels were all amazing and playing all three remasters of Hitman 1, 2, and 3 were also very good.

Premise:

Hitman: World Of Assassination or Hitman 3, is a combination of all three previous Hitman games of its trilogy, with a prologue and side missions to help explain the story a bit more. Hitman takes place in... how do I explain this? It is a stealth game with of course the obvious Assassin's Creed gameplay mixed in with it, but it also has some sci-fi elements mixed in with some of the missions.

The story follows the famous Hitman: Agent 47 who in my opinion is surprisingly very similar in personality to Sekiro, not based on consciousness but more so the voice acting and the way the two voice actors talked with a very calm and calculating tones which both main characters showed. Agent 47, is later revealed to be, a genetical experiment created by a former member of the USSR, who works for this international organization that controls the world called Providence, the experiment was meant to create super soldiers by increasing there physical strength and removing there ability to feel and project emotions, but was determined to be a failure and all the subjects had there minds wiped. Agent 47 throughout all the games does certain contracts either against Providence or for Providence. Some of these missions have Agent 47 go after a mysterious Shadow Client who is later named: Lucas Grey, the childhood friend of Agent 47 who was able to avoid the mind wipe and keep his emotions.

The main antagonist for all three games are The Constant or Arthur Edwards, who is a member of Providence and at the top of its ladder, making some of the decisions and working with the other board members and heralds who control most of the production in the world, namely oil, manufacturing, and several other resources. Arthur is seen in several cutscenes after the missions, reacting to what Agent 47 does, the people he kills and how its affecting Providence with members being eliminated and there projects being destroyed or assets being taken over.

The story is the best part, but I'll hold that back for later so we can do the Gameplay.

Gameplay:

The gameplay of Hitman is really good. The stealth in this game is very good, as is the versatility in its combat, with various ways of using the firearms, melee weapons, and tools that Agent 47 can use.

The stealth in Hitman is the best part of the game to me. Sneaking past enemies, and being able to stand a chance is very satisfying, (Armored Core VI's stealth mission will forever scar me). The game gives you the option of using several distractions, coins, food, weapons, or anything like that for the guards or targets to find so you can lead them towards the objects and take them down. But the game is still very difficult with the stealth, because if you are seen dragging a body, good luck, because the guards nearby will see it or the citizens will alert the guards to come search for it. And if you aren't wearing the correct outfit for a certain area, you will be considered trespassing and if you are seen by the guards, the guards will tell you to leave and if you don't within a certain time, they will force you out and attack, and if they do attack, go for headshots, its the fastest way to take them down.

The combat in the game can be... not fun. It is a stealth game so that makes sense. Agent 47 autoheals during combat and when your in cover, with headshots being the best way to take down most enemies with a headshot being a one hit knockout, which is very realistic and very satisfying, especially with the silenced pistol and knowing nobody is going to come looking... unless they had a bodyguard or a friend, which you can take care of if you have a plan. Sometimes if you go for a fist to fist battle with someone without sneaking up on them, be prepared for some quick time events and to knock them out afterwards, which I often forgot to do.

Now allow me to explain the story, and why I am in love with it.

Story:

Hitman's story is insanely good, with a lot of plot twists (especially for someone like me who experienced it for the first time), a lot of fun missions, each of them with different mission stories which allows a lot of variety when you go ahead and do them to take down the targets. Each target has there own biography, different habits that you can exploit, and there personality (when confronted or when you eavesdrop on them) is easily revealed which makes them all very interesting and the life around the world in each of the missions is also good.

The four main characters in the game are: Agent 47, Diana Burnwood, Lucas Grey, and Olivia Hall. Agent 47, throughout all three games, go across the world to places like: France, Italy, U.S.A, Japan, England, Germany, China, and Romania with more around the world all of them being different missions with different security and different challenges that Agent 47 will overcome. Diana Burnwood is the Handler for Agent 47 giving him the missions that he takes on and helps Agent 47 during the mission, offering advice, and other intel that allows Agent 47 to know about his targets. Lucas Grey is the childhood friend of Agent 47 and set up a private militia which... is half of the targets in World of Assassination all working with Lucas to take down Providence, the people he does hire are... criminals, most of them are criminals and Lucas did imply that he planned on taking them down when he was done... until he was killed by Arthur, which really pissed me off. Olivia Hall is the only one that Lucas Grey truly trusted alongside Agent 47 since she was his informant and aided Lucas with taking down security, and helping Lucas and Agent 47, later on anyways.

Agent 47 takes down several targets with each area becoming harder, with the security becoming even more tighter, with one of the areas being a giant skyscraper reaching above the clouds where two of Providence's board members are located who also happen to be the targets. I also feel like as the game goes on Agent 47 seems to be getting his emotions back with most of them being restored by Diana Burnwood who becomes his morality compass, and his consciousness throughout the game.

But I do want to discuss one thing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Control, Corruption, and Corporations

Some aspects of this game reminded me of Cyberpunk 2077, and while the game is very capitalist, with Johnny Silverhand being the biggest voice of this theme. Hitman has some similar aspects.

Most of the targets are people who are very rich, have been at the highest points of there lives by bringing down others, manipulating those around them. The second game being the biggest example with most of the targets having a history of taking down others, buying out others, or injuring others in order for them to become more powerful. While other targets are people who deserve to die, like Hush who was a part of the Dark Web committing Human Trafficking and Organ Harvested, or Sean Rose a literal terrorist who made bombs and a political one at that.

The corporations are fairly obvious with Providence controlling most of the manufacturing and products of the world and by taking them down we remove there alliance and force them down to tinier areas of control.

Ending Thoughts:

Hitman: World Of Assassination is an amazing game, and I will likely go looking for the rest of the Hitman games that I can play or look for similar games like it, and the story was also very good, so I would rate it a...

9/10. I did have some issues with the game, with one crash which did annoy me slightly, and sometimes while the story was good the death of Lucas Grey was such a strange move and the way they wrote him to in the third game also confused me to.

If I were to do a spy fanfic, I would likely have Lucas Grey be one of those characters, since I did like his character in the game, and Agent 47 will be another one of those characters.
