When North woke up, Night was gone. At first, he thought maybe he went to the bathroom or was in the kitchen or living room, but as he searched the entire house, finding no trace of the boy ever being there, he got worried. He asked the staff if they've seen him, but one of his staff said he saw Night being picked up by a black vehicle in the early hours of the morning. He tried calling the younger one, but it said the number doesn't exist. So North got worried, rightfully so because his boyfriend just disappeared on him after spending the night together. So North did the first thing that crossed his mind and called Ongsa.
"Sa, do you know where Night is?" North asked as soon as his best friend answered the phone.
"Good morning to you too, North." Ongsa said, obviously trying to tease him, but North didn't have time for that. He needed to know if Night was safe and sound where he was.
"Sa. I am serious. Have you seen Night or spoken to him today?" North asked.
"No. Wasn't he supposed to spend the night with you? It's only 8 am. Did you two have a fight?" Ongsa replied.
"No. No, we didn't fight. Everything was fine last night, more than fine, but when I woke up, he was gone." North replied.
"Did you check the bathroom or the garden?" Ongsa asked.
"Sa, do you seriously think I would call you asking for his whereabouts if I didn't do all those things? I even tried calling him, but it says the number doesn't exist." North replied.
"Okay, that's strange. Let me ask Sun and see if she knows something." Ongsa said.
"Thank you, Sa." North replied.
When Ongsa got back to him, she informed him that Night's dad was looking for him, but the two never made it back home. Ongsa told him that she tried to call her uncle, but the number disconnected. North got really worried to the point that Ongsa had to come over and spend the night with him.
When the weekend passed and there was no trace of Night anywhere. North insisted that they file a missing person's case. Unfortunately the police were fucking incompetent and North felt helpless. It was difficult because he literally had no support system except for Ongsa, and she had to be there for Sun.
North became obsessed by some other people's definition with finding Night. Trying to trace every step, every conversation they had, trying to find any clue that could help him piece together Night's disappearance. He even hired a private detective since he felt like the police weren't doing their job properly.
After missing school for almost a month, Ongsa intervened. Forcing him to go back to school. He had resisted at first, but Ongsa used Night against him, and he folded.
"Night will hate himself if you fail and don't graduate. Do this for him, at least okay? Let the police and the private detective do their job." Ongsa had said, and although North hated to admit it, Ongsa was right.
"I am worried, Sa. Where could he possibly be? No one person can disappear without a trace." North had told his friend.
"I know. We are all worried. Sun is a mess right now, but let's be hopeful okay. We'll find him." Ongsa had said, giving him somewhat comfort.
Months passed, and the police and the private detective were nowhere near solving the case. It seemed like it was going to be one of those cold cases that remained unsolved. North stayed hopeful. His worry regarding Night's safety surprisingly made him a better student. He was so stressed out that he would study.
When they graduated from high school, he was part of the top 3 best performing students to everyone's surprise, and his parents had been delighted. Life seemed to have moved on, everyone excited to start working, going to university and talking about their futures while North was still stuck Months in the past, reminiscing about his time with Night.
