The mornings start in the dark now, and the air has a sensitive chill.
The autumn shows its signs of arrival as leaves perch on the window sill.
Colours slowly fade from lush green and transcend to rust orange and then brown,
And the winds that swirl through the days send the leaves drifting down.

Trading ice creams for bake pies and ice tea for hot chocolate with cream,
With pumpkin spice and apple with cinnamon, it's an autumnal dream.
Cosy blankets and hoodies, cabins with crackling fires,
Spooky films and horror nights with friends and all things your heart desires.

Autumn is a time for natures cycle to decay and make room for the new,
And as they year nears it's end we must make room too,
But while it slowly passes day by day, we can admire the beauty this season will share,
While the spices and scents of autumn twists and swirls through the air.
