WOODS-NIGHT
[Rafael is running and panting. He trips and rolls down. Then he sees Necromancer with red robe.]
"What was that?" Asked Hayley.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CORRIDOR-DAY
[Rafael is standing on stairs. Alaric is talking on speaker.]
Alaric(Over P.A.): Attention, students. Please make your way to morning assembly.
[Landon comes out of dorm and hits Rafael on shoulder.]
Landon: Hey. You want to sit with Ryan and me at assembly today?
Rafael: Uh, yeah, sure.
"Ryan and Landon are really getting along, huh?" Said Freya.
"Yes. Both of them let themselves care and became close." Said Audrey.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-HALL-DAY
[Alaric is standing on stage and talking to assembled students.]
Alaric: I know you are all worried. Believe me, no one is more worried than I am. My daughter Josie is still missing.
Caroline grabs Stefan hand.
Alaric: But even as I speak, we're doing everything we can to find her. Audrey and the wolves are attempting to track her. Kol and the vampires have compelled local police for any help that they can provide. We will find her and bring her home. That said, I just want to reiterate, under no circumstance should any of you approach her. While she is our family and friend, she is under the influence of black magic and... not herself. [Alyssa yawns. We see Rafael, Landon, Ryan and Hope sitting together.]
Alaric: Your safety and Josie's is my top priority. I promise you I will get through to her and bring back the Josie we know and love safely. But first... we just have to find her. [Josie slams door open with magic.]
Josie: I'm right here, Dad. [Josie flies down the stairs.]
Salvatores look at Josie worried.
Josie: Well, don't look so shocked. Did you really think that I would miss my birthday? Oh, I'm sorry, -- [Josie caresses Lizzie's face.]
Josie: --our birthday. So... what did I miss?
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CORRIDOR-DAT
[Josie is walking with group. MG goes to her.]
MG: You multiplied like Gremlins.
Josie: Supervillains need a squad, too... with a little help of a black magic suggestion spell.
"Strong spell." Said Freya.
MG: Can I talk to you for a sec? Without the squad.
Josie: You guys know your assignments. Start prepping my birthday bash without me. I'll catch up. [Group leaves without a word.]
MG: Oh, that's not creepy at all.
Josie: I need to make sure that my party goes off without a hitch.
MG: About that. Happy birthday, Jo. [MG gives Josie a gift.]
MG: To replace the one I spilled root beer on, when I first got to the school. I think that was the day we became friends.
"That is supposed to bring her back?" Said Klaus.
Josie: You're never gonna give up on the good inside of me, are you, MG?
MG: It's not my style. [Josie hugs MG. Her eyes turn black and she siphons him until he loses consciousness. Kaleb catches him.]
Caroline looks even more worried.
Kaleb: What the hell is wrong with you?
Josie: Oh, wait your turn, Kaleb. Plenty of hugs to go around. [Davina and Hope are standing in doorway. Davina sighs.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-ALARIC'S OFFICE-DAY
[Alaric is talking to Carlos.]
Carlos: The order of the symbols I've just prescribed will increase the box's difficulty to its utmost level.
Alaric: And then I just point and shoot?
Carlos: Yes, merely open the box toward your subject and they will be sent into the game. It's how i imprisoned real Vardemus.
"She is planing to imprisone Josie?" Asked Elijah.
Alaric: Hmm, well, it sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. [There is knocking on door.]
Alaric: Uh... thank you, Carlos.
Carlos: Any time. [Carlos opens the door to leave.]
Alaric: Come in. [Hope, Davina and Kaleb walk in.]
Davina: So that's your plan? To lock Josie in the box? She got out of prison world and sent dreams in here and you think some therapy box can hold her?
"She is right." Said Freya.
Alaric: Carlos assured me she wouldn't be able to do that at this difficulty level.
Carlos: I didn't say that. I said that she might not be able to get out. Might.
Alaric: The box will keep her safe until Caroline and I can figure out a way to help her permanently.
"Abou that. My daughter went dark. Where the fuck am i?!" Said Caroline.
Hope: Yeah, but what if she hurts someone before you do? She just tried desiccating MG.
Alaric: And that's a good sign, because she's fully capable of doing worse.
[Hope, Davina and Kaleb share a look.]
Alaric: If anything, I see that as proof that she can still be reached.
Kaleb: Yeah, well, I looked in her freaky black eyes and I'm not so sure about that, Doc.
Caroline glares at Kaleb.
Davina: We all want to help Josie, but we need to keep the school safe, too.
Kaleb: And the only way we can do that is if we treat this like monster problem.
Audrey sents Kaleb a glare at the word monster.
Alaric: I just don't see it that way.
Hope: We know.
Kaleb: Gonna have to sit this one out. [Hope opens the box and Alaric gets locked in there.]
Davina: Was that really nessecery?
Hope: He couldn't handle this.
Audrey nodded in agreement.
Kaleb: Okay, now what's the plan?
SALVATORE SCHOOL-GROUNDS-DAY
[Landon is running, Ryan is following behind. They see Rafael.]
Landon: Yo. Finally. I was trying to make my wings do the... I haven't got the hang of it yet, so...
Ryan: What happened here? There is a lot of blood.
Rafael: I-I don't know. I can't remember.
"Why?" Asked Marcel.
Landon: Dang. [There is bloody handprints on trees and blood pool. Rafael goes toward it. Rafael closes his eyes and sees bloodied knife and figure. Landon nudges him.]
Landon: Hey. What was that? Talk to me, Raf.
Rafael: Okay, um... so I-I keep having these, these flashes, right, bro? It's like bits and like pieces of memory.
Ryan: Memories of what?
Rafael: This place. Look, that's-that's why I left the scene. I just had another one. And I think somebody died here, Lan.
"What?!" Said Hayley.
Landon: Who?
Rafael: I don't know. But, um, um, I'm pretty sure I killed 'em.
"That's not true by the way." Said Hope.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-HALL-DAY
[People are hanging black decorations.]
Lizzie: Okay, that settles it. My sister is definitely a monster. Who else would decorate for our birthday party with black?
Audrey: Shouldn't you be in, like, witness protection or something?
Lizzie: If she still wants to kill me, the safest place I can be is right here next to you two, so spill. I want to help you with whatever plan you're cooking up.
Hope: Okay, fine, but just, like, keep it down. [Audrey rolled her eyes at Hope.]
Hope: I don't want her to know that we're up to anything. [Josie appears behind them.]
Josie: Up to what, exactly? Come on, guys, this is all so unnecessary. If you have something to ask me, go ahead. I don't bite.
Girls+Salvatore brother look at Josie concerned.
Hope: Then I will. Where's Josie?
Josie: I'm right here, silly.
Hope: The real Josie, our Josie.
Josie: So you mean Weak Josie? She's gone... I thought I made that very clear. Thanks to you, selfish sissy.
Lizzie: You're right, okay? I was selfish. If you just come back, I'll try and change.
Josie: You always try to change. And it never sticks. So, pass. Any other questions?
"She is trying and that's what matter. Trying is all we can do." Said Stefan.
Hope: You said you came back here for a reason. Because deep down, you know that we can bring the good inside of you out.
Josie: You're right. I do have a reason.
And now I have to ruin the surprise. [Josie clicks her fingerand banner appears with Happy Merge Day written.]
"What?!" Exlaimed Caroline.
Lizzie: Merging isn't even possible. We aren't 22.
Josie: Yeah, see, it turns out that's just a guideline. Kind of like driving a car or smoking cigarettes. Nobody wants you to do it before you're old enough, but you can. So I'll see you both tonight? Finger foods at around 8: 30-ish and then the Merge at 8. Oh, and don't be late, Lizzie, or else I will have to do something drastic.
Everyone looks worried.
THERAPY BOX-JUNGLE-NIGHT
[Alaric is looking at big wall.]
Alaric: Lost Temple of Potest. And behind this wall, the elixir of life that it protects. And salvation for my daughters. Sorry you didn't make it, pal.
I'll be sure to send you a postcard. [Alaric throws rope up to climb.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-LIZZIE AND JOSIE'S DORM-DAY
[Lizzie is packing her bag. MG, Audrey and Hope are talking to her.]
Hope: I thought you wanted to help.
Lizzie: That was before I knew that Josie wanted to merge, aka force a battle of wills where the winner literally absorbs the loser... meaning me.
MG: Please, just hear her out. Because we can't help Jo without you.
Lizzie: (Sighs) Five minutes, Mikaelson. And this plan of yours had better include a nuclear warhead.
Hope: I'm making a potion...
Lizzie: Oh! Fizzy, refreshing. Not a nuke.
Audrey: Lizzie! Now isn't time for you being... you.
Lizzie: Okay. Tell me about this potion.
Audrey: It will create a fortified locality within your psyche when you merge.
Lizzie: What do you mean "when"?
Audrey: There's no way around that part.
"No. No. They can't do merge! " said Caroline.
"Find another way." Said Stefan.
"That isn't happening." Said Damon.
Hope: But-- But if this works, it'll create a safe space in your mind, divide Josie's consciousness and yours when you absorb her. And after we detox her with a dark magic cleanse, we'll be able to put Jo's mind back into her body. And, uh, both of you will be normal... ish.
"Ish." Repeated Audrey with a snort.
Lizzie: Okay, you said when I absorb her. Does this stupid plan only work if I win?
Hope: Technically, yes.
"Please tell me there is another plan." Said Caroline.
"Of course." Said Audrey and Hope in unison.
MG: But... we believe in you.
Lizzie: Well, there's your first mistake right there, okay? I am my biggest fan and even I know that Lord Josiemort is gonna squash me like a bug.
Audrey: Uncle Kol and aunt Davina are working on coming up other plans.
MG: That's why I'm here.
Lizzie: To clean up my bug guts?!
MG: No. To train you. [Audrey looks at him incrediously.]
Audrey: What?
"You might think how is vampire planing to train her for witch fight which is about mental war? I have no idea." Said Audrey.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-MILL HOUSE GROUNDS-DAY
[Lizzie is aiming fire bullets at bottles.]
MG: Focus, focus. You're not getting it.
[Lizzie hits the bottle with fire bullet. Bottle reflects fire bullet and hits MG. He groans in pain.]
MG: (smilling) Honestly, just better.
"What is happening?" Asked Kol.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-JOSIE AND LIZZIE'S DORM-DAY
[Lizzie is doing press.]
MG: It's okay. You've got this! You've got it!
"Are you kidding me?" Said Damon.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-MILL HOUSE GROUBDS-DAY
[Lizzie hits fire bullets at bottles.]
MG: Yeah! That's right! [MG laughs and they high-five.]
SALVATORE SCHOOL-LIZZIE AND JOSIE'S ROOM-DAY
Lizzie: Seriously? The Merge is a mental battle, MG, not Ninja Warrior or whatever is in your head.
MG: W-Well, I can train your brain, too. I'm all about mind over matter. [Audrey rolls her eyes.]
Kol rolls his eyes, too.
Hope: Lizzie's right. We need to find a witch that can help her. Maybe Aunt Davina--
Lizzie: No need. If we want to find out if I'm strong enough to win, i know exactly what witch can tell us. [Lizzie leaves the room. Zombie's eye is watching.]
MYSTIC FALLS CEMETERY-DAY
[Necromancer is watching through Zombie's eye what is happening.]
Necromancer: After her, you wretched creation! (Groans) We've got to get a faster eyeball. But you mark my words, Chad, that Tribrids are plotting something.
Chad: Duh. They always got an awesome plan. Um, and somehow has time for relationship stuff, too.
"Aww. He is cute. I like him." Said Audrey.
Necromancer: Stop flapping your gums, my reluctant acolyte. You're missing the latest twist. [Josie is looking into Zombie's eye.]
Necromancer: It looks like our favorite show's about to get canceled. [Josie shows up behind them.]
Josie: More like getting a spinoff.
"Dramatic. I like it." Said Audrey. Salvatores are worried for Josie.
Chad: Uh... how are you... ?
Josie: Astral projection.
Chad: Rad.
Necromancer: (Chuckles) A mere parlor trick.
Josie: I agree. So... who the hell are you?
Necromancer: I... am the Master of the Underworld! Ferryman of the Damned!
Reaper of Souls! The... Almighty Necromancer! [Necromancer chuckles evily.]
Josie: I thought you'd be taller. [Necromancer's face falls.]
Audrey, Kol and Kalus laugh.
Chad: I'm Chad. Just Chad.
Josie: Let me get this straight. You two are the masterminds behind this whole... Malivore operation? Seriously?
"I think i like dark Josie." Chuckled Audrey.
