Chapter 55

SALVATORE SCHOOL-HALL-DAY
[Hope(Lizzie) is standing on stairs and looking at flowers.]
Girl: What's Lela up to?
Hope(Lizzie): I don't know. Probably off somewhere being a total beta. Which i am super into.
"Bitch." Said Hope.
Girl: Mmm. (To Girl 2)  You bringing anyone to the funeral? [Girl 2 shrugs smilling.]
"They are bringing dates to funreals?!" Said Davina in disbelief.
Hope(Lizzie): You guys are bringing dates to the funeral? (Chuckles) Aren't you in, like, mourning or whatever?
Girl 2: Over Lizzie?
Salvatores glare at her.
Hope(Lizzie): I thought she was pretty popular.
Girl: Because we were all scared of crossing her. It's kind of a relief to not have to worry about what crazy thing she's going to do next. 
"I will kill her." Said Damon.
Girl: Besides, it's not like she's gone. If The Necromancer brought drama queen Alyssa back, who's to say he can't bring Lizzie back, too?
Girl 2: Unfortunately. [Girls laugh. Hope(Lizzie) looks hurt.]
"I might help you." Said Caroline to Damon.
Hope(Lizzie): We need more ribbon.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CORRIDOR-DAY
[Wade is being recorded on camera.]
Wade: Memory of Lizzie. Oh, uh, once, she put up a barrier spell and trapped us all in the school with a gargoyle. Um, not really sure why she did that, but it was... it was pretty scary.
"She did it to catch creature and she saved kid's life, Asshole!" Glared Caroline.
Jed: Yeah, no, uh... More like a personal memory.
Wade: Oh. Um... Okay. Once, she walked by me and just said, "Hard pass" for no reason.
Kaleb: Um, okay, cut. Um, uh... [Jed turns off camera.]
Wade: That felt pretty good to me. Y'all need anything else or... ? [Kaleb and Jed look at each other.]
Kaleb: I think... We'll call you.
Jed: We'll call you.
Wade: Great. All right. [Wade leaves.]
Jed: Yeah, we're gonna need to edit that last one. It's a memorial, not a roast.
Kaleb: Yeah, it's pointless, man. We'll never get them to say anything nice about Lizzie. Girl has burned everyone in this school at least once.
"You don't speak ill of the dead." Said Freya.
Jed: Yeah, well, doesn't mean we give up on her. Everyone thought Alyssa was mean, too. They just didn't know the real her.
"That bitch was never good enough for Jed." Said Audrey.
Kaleb: (Chuckles) Okay.
Jed: You think Alyssa's doing okay?
Kaleb: Dude, I'm not gonna talk about this. Especially not with you.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-TUNNELS-DAY
[Audrey, Kol and Davina appear with Carlos's corpse, which indicates they were under invisibility spell. Ryan and Alaric look startled.]
Alaric: What happened? [Ryan goes to Audrey, who is covered in Carlos's blood.]
Kol: Necromancer used Rafael to kill Carlos, probably to get him out. What use is puppet if it's locked up?
"I hate Necromancer so much." Said Audrey.
Kol: Audrey messaged us she needed us, then put Rafael under sleep spell. We went to her and for safe measures, Davina put boundary spell on Rafael's room so no one is able to enter or leave.
"Good." Said Caroline.
[Ryan looks at Audrey worried.]
Ryan: Are you okay?
Audrey: Are you? [Ryan hugs Audrey, Audrey hugs back and they sit cuddled up.]
People smile at grieving couple.
MYSTIC FALLS GRAVEYARD- DAY
[Necromancer and Josie are watching school.]
Necromancer: We've been watching the basin all day, as requested. The entire school, including the Tribrid, is planning a memorial for your sister, who is dead. Which we already knew.
Josie: Mm. There's something new in my mind that I can't quite reach. Something that shouldn't be there.
"Shit. She knows." Said Marcel. Mikaelsons look at Hope worried.
"I'm fine. It's past for me." Said Hope.
Josie: That means they're acting. Which means they know about your little zombie eye. You've been fooled, Ted.
Necromancer: (Yells) Don't ever... (Exhales) Well, what do you want me to do?
Josie: My father must be behind this. Have a chat with him. I'll search my mind... for the thing that's out of place.
Necromancer: I can't. They knocked Rafael out.
Josie: Then find another way!
Necromancer: As you wish.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-KITCHEN-DAY
[Lizzie walks in kitchen with her real face. There is only MG in kitchen. When MG sees Lizzie he pretends to be surprised.]
MG: Oh, my God. Lizzie. You're alive...
Lizzie: Drop it. Okay? The coast is clear.
MG: Then what are you doing?
Lizzie: I couldn't pretend for one more second. Nobody is upset about me being dead. They all hate me.
"My poor baby." Said Caroline sadly.
MG: (softly) They don't hate you, Lizzie-- [Someone walks in.]
MG: --'s good friend Hope. [Lizzie puts ring back on and turns into Hope.]
MG: I think they only just got to know one side of her. That's what my eulogy's about.
Hope(Lizzie): Great idea. The perfect eulogy would force everyone to remember what an amazing person that... she was. And I should be the one to do it. After all, I knew her the best.
"I don't think it's a good idea." Said Hayley.
MG: I don't, I don't think that's a good idea.
Hope(Lizzie) It's what Lizzie would've wanted.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-HALL-DAY
[Everyone is sitting in hall for funreal.]
Hope(Lizzie): Okay. Where's my dad?
MG: He'll be here any moment. [MG gets up and goes on stage.]
"If you are keeping up image for Necromancer, shouldn't Davina, Kol and Alaric attend?" Asked Elijah. Audrey shruggs.
"I think it's after Alaric was kidnapped in corridor by Necromancer's puppets and Uncle Kol and Aunt D where looking for him." Said Audrey.
[Kaleb plays piano. Video shows up on screen in great hall.]
Wade: (Video) A memory of Lizzie? Um...
[There is clear cuts between girl's words.]
Girl: (Video) I miss Lizzie so bad. The entire school will never get over it.
"Couldn't they have done at least better cuts?" Winced Caroline in sympathy for her daughter.
Jed: (Video) Lizzie was always... uh... really cool. Really hot.
"This is so Jed." Chuckled Audrey fondly.
Kaleb: (Video) So many memories of Lizzie. And the fact that we remember
Lizzie at all means that she didn't go into Malivore. Which, that-that's something... [MG makes cut sign and video is turned off.]
"This is the worst funreal video ever." Said Audrey
MG: All right. Uh... Technical difficulties, folks. We're just gonna move on with the next part of the service. [Jed gets up and joins Kaleb on stage.]
Kaleb: Thank you.
Jed: Uh... This one's for Lizzie Saltzman. [Kol and Davina walk in the hall and sit at empty seats.]
"Here they are." Said Audrey.
"Is Alaric okay?" Asked Caroline.
"Yes. Your precious Alaric is okay, teacher's pet." Said Audrey, still bitter about prion world events.
"Audrey. Manners." Said Elijah.
"You aren't my father." Said Audrey.
"Audrey." Said Klaus and Hayley.
"Sorry." Said Audrey.

Jed: The good times

Kaleb:  And I thought we'd get [Jed joins.]
Jed&Kaleb: To see... [Both of them stop and then continue.]
"They should have practiced first." Grimced Hope.
Jed&Kaleb: To see

[Student snorts. Hope(Lizzie) looks upset.]
Davina: (grimces) This is not good.
Kol: (amused) I like it. [Davina steps on his foot and gives him a look.]
Salvatores glare at Kol.
Jed&Kaleb: But forever's gone away
[Jed and Kaleb's voices overlap each other and don't match. Students start chuckling.]
Salvatores and girls glare at students.
Hope(Lizzie): (pissed off) Okay.
Jed&Kaleb: Ooh, you know it's gone
You know it's gone
You know it's gone away
Doo-do-do-do-do-do-do, gone. [Hope(Lizzie) gets on stage and pushes Jed and Kaleb away from micropone.]
Hope(Lizzie): Okay, thank you. Thank you so much for whatever that was. [Jed and Kaleb leave stage. Hope(Lizzie) clears her throat.]
Hope(Lizzie): I'm here today to deliver the eulogy for Elizabeth Jenna Saltzman. Lizzie was more than one thing. She was a witch, a daredevil, a lover. [There is hushed whispers and laugher.]
Hope(Lizzie): Was she a saint? Eh, who's to say? But I can say this. She was the absolute best of us. [Students roar with laugher. Davina gives them disapproving looks.]
"At least have decency to not laught at funreal!!!" Yelled pissed off Caroline.
Hope(Lizzie): She was a kind soul. [Everyone laughs louder. Davina gets up.]
Davina: Enough! (To Hope(Lizzie))  I'm sorry. Continue. [Students keep snickering, now more quietly. Davina gives them disappointed look. Kol looks angry at students disrespect.]
Salvatores glare at students murderiously.
Hope(Lizzie): She was kind, and nice.
[People keep laughing. Kol stands up angrily.]
Kol: Quiet! It's a funreal. [Students stop laughing.]
"Since when do you care? You looked amused a minute ago." Said  Marcel.
"They were disrespecting Davina and being annoying." Said Kol.
[Hope(Lizzie) gives Kol almost relieved look and continues her speech.]
Hope(Lizzie): And sometimes she was just tired or having a bad day, or whatever. [Students look amused, but they don't dare laughing with Kol's glare and Davina's angry and disappointed look pointed at them.]
"I have never been this angry at children." Said Stefan.
Hope(Lizzie): You all think you knew her, but you didn't. You're all wrong! [Hope(Lizzie) leaves.]
"Please tell me they were punished." Said Caroline.
"From what i heard they had detention for a month." Said Audrey.
JOSIE'S SUBCONSCIOUS-HUT-DAY
[Hope and Pig walk in hut.]
Pig: That's strange. He's always home. Hello? Mr. Huntsman. I brought a nosy friend. (Sniffing) Oh, stew's on. He must be nearby. [Hope sees weapons and picks up axe.]
Hope: Ah. Nice.
"You and your axes." Said amused Audrey.
Pig: Sweetie, if you think that's enough to stop the Darkness, you are crazy.
Hope: Probably, but I'm not going down without a fight. What do you say? Are you in?
Pig: I-I would be no use in battle. I-I know, I bluster a lot. But, uh, I just get so scared, and then I say dumb stuff when I'm scared.
Hope: Yeah, I know.
Pig: I-I could finish the stew, though. Maybe find some bread. Uh, make you a nice meal before you go off to die.
Hope: That'll do, pig.
Pig: Don't press your luck, kiddo. [Pig knocks on pot, lifts the lid and sees severed head. He closes it and starts screaming.]
"What the hell?!" Said Caroline.
Pig: It's a trap! [Wolf is on doorstep. Hope closes door at his face with magic. Wolf knocks.]
Wolf: Little witch, little witch, let... me... (growling) in!
MYSTIC FALLS GRAVEYARD-DAY
[Josie opens her dark eyes.]
Josie: Hope Mikaelson... are you in my head? [Josie falls on ground.]
"This is not good." Said Elijah. People look worried for Josie and Hope.
MYSTIC FALLS-PUB-DAY
[Alaric wakes up. Necromancer slides drink over to him.]
Alaric: Wh-What, what's going on?
Necromancer: This pub's under new management. [Alaric breaks bottle and goes to attack.]
Alyssa: Dr. Saltzman! [Alaric stops and looks at her. Chad is standing next to Alyssa.]
Alyssa: He just wants to talk.
Necromancer: It's true. I have an offer for you.
Alaric: I'm not making any deals with you.
"Good. He can't be trusted." Said Caroline.
Necromancer: Not even if it saves your daughter? Turns out we both want the same thing. To get that black magic out of her and send her home.
Alaric: Yeah, but I'm doing that without your help.
Necromancer: By which you mean that little suicide mission into her mind? Ah, it's going to fail, I'm afraid. She already suspects you're up to something. It's only a matter of time before she figures out what you're up to and puts an end to it. I wouldn't care either way, but...(Sighs) ... I want that black magic for myself, and that wretched girl out of my life. [Necromancer drinks cocktail.]
"Aww. Scared?" Mocked Audrey.
Necromancer: The good Josie is still in there, deep down. I've seen it. [Alaric points at Alyssa and Chad.]
Alaric: You set them and Rafael free, too. No strings attached.
"You can't fall for that!" Said Damon.
Necromancer: (Chuckles) Why not? I'll raise these puppets, then I'll sever my tie with them.
Alaric: Can you bring back Landon and Carlos, too?
"I'm surprised he included Carlos." Said Freya.
"Carlos died for school. Of course, Alaric would include him." Said Hope.
"I was surprised, too." Said Audrey to Freya.
Necromancer: Of course. [Alaric looks at Chad and Alyssa, then looks back to Necromancer.]
Alaric: There's no way I can trust you.
Necromancer: An unbreakable covenant spell, then. [Necromancer opens Grimmoire and rips out one page.]
Necromancer: If both of us don't hold up our end of the bargain, neither of us gets what we want. You lose your puppets, and I lose me magic. No exceptions. When you've made up your mind, you know how to signal me. [Necromancer snaps his fingers and Chad and Alyssa leaves. Necromancer puts page from Grimmoire on desk and leaves as well.]
